YOU will see some site changes and I hope you enjoy the new format with many more match preview posts from a host of contributors.

We've put up many people as posters over the years and one of the best is Greg Browning who landed a 40-1 winner on French Ligue 2 goals on Friday night. By the comments there were loads of people on.

I've read all the previews from the new contributors and all have the potential to be as good as Greg and HulShaker and I wish everyone the best of luck and thanks for getting involved.

Man United v Leicester kicked off the Premier League campaign last night and it was a decent match. I'd written off my both to score tip but Leicester had chances before Jamie Vardy bagged a consolation strike in injury time.

Well done to all the winners on that game and everyone else who profited.

Saturday sees the first full card of the season which of course means too much choice.

I've posted separate Scottish and English betting previews where my picks are reasoned. The action kicks off with Newcastle v Spurs and Hearts v Celtic and both matches feature in my selections.

I'm backing Spurs at a Newcastle side whose players have been protesting about bonus payments and that won't help the atmosphere. One problem could be Spurs leaving out some of their World Cup stars – and line-ups are important in the Hearts game too with Celtic having one eye on their Champions League trip to Athens on Tuesday.

Last week I left out the 38-1 aways winner I put up in the Daily Record so I've listed them this weekend.

Good luck with all of your bets and check out those separate match previews on games such as Hearts v Celtic, Wolves v Everton and Derby v Leeds.

Got a feeling there could be a few draws this weekend.
    Wolves v Everton.
Fulham v palace (mainly due to Fulham players not played together yet and pre season not good).
Newcastle v spurs (big pressure on spurs due to them being tight wads regarding transfers).
Arsenal v man city (gut feeling)
Bournemouth v Cardiff (new boys tend to dig out results early doors.
Thinking of draw lucky 15 or even score draw lucky 15
    Wolves 2-2
    Newcastle 1-1
    Arsenal 2-2
    Bournemouth 0-0

@mr-fixit to answer your question from yesterday’s thread, Lennon will rest players and it could be between 4 & 6 players but whoever he does bring in won’t really weaken us
I think one player guaranteed to start on the bench is Kamberi

    • mr h 6 years ago

You’re getting carried away with yourself, any team in the league who makes 4-6 changes will be weakened unless the original 11 wasn’t you’re strongest and that includes 7 in a row champs Celtic. I admire your loyalty too your club but that’s a bit far fetched

    • derekj1978 6 years ago

4-6 would weaken Barcelona but not Hibs ?

    • Johnb 6 years ago

When you look at the players that have just signed and players that were missing on Thursday of course it won’t weaken us

Why do people assume Thursdays team was our strongest, we haven’t played our strongest team this season yet and still unbeaten in our first six games, last Sundays team selection was nowhere near our first choice lineup and it was still strong enough to beat anyone in the league,

when it comes to analysis I am the best there is, with the confidence of Zlatan and the skill of Ronaldo ?

    • mr h 6 years ago

Celtics strongest 11 against Hibs strongest 11 and both on their day is a no contest ? ?

Are you and Macca related by any chance?

    Happy days in Paraguay ??⚽️??

GENERAL DÍAZ VS. SPORTIVO LUQUEÑO (2230 KO):

Luqueno may well be the better side here and their 2nd top placed standing certainly reflects that in comparison to Diaz’ 2nd bottom.

    But!

I wouldn’t underestimate the hosts ability to grind something out; they may only have 2 points on the current board but they have seen out a large proportion of their games via draws – score draws to be precise.

5 of their last 6 games in all competitions have finished 1-1 and although that may be put down to pure chance, I’d be inclined to say it is as much a reflection of their style of play…worth noting that 2 of the last 8 H2H’s finished with that exact scoreline!

Diaz have failed to score only once in their last 15 games and with Luqueno on form having scored 2-4-3-2 team goals on their last 4 away days, I’d say there is a fair chance of goals for both sides – something that has gotten the green light in 70% of the last 10 H2H’s.

    Three selections to consider:

    DIAZ GOAL BEFORE 66:00…5/6

    Morning gents,

Posted this one up on Thursday and have added a BTTS treble from the National League North which has solid claims at a decent price

    BILLERICAY TOWN VS. WEALDSTONE:

This one has the makings of a great game and features another tough game for Billericay after their bout with Concord midweek.

Wealdstone have had a similar start to the hosts with a 1-1 draw and a belting 4-1 opening day win – they also hold the most recent bragging rights with a 2-5 away Cup victory in February so certainly have the ammo to cause a bit of damage in Essex.

But, Billericay have a much stronger squad this campaign and have started well themselves as anticipated; a 0-4 away win at Truro was followed by a hard fought point against Canvey Island side Concord…I reckon this could turn out to be a cracker!

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…21/20
    (Bet365)
    ????

    OVER 3.5 MGS…6/4
    (Bet365)

EPL Week 1 Betting Market Preview Saturday 11th August 2018.

    Newcastle vs Tottenham

EPL match day 1 Saturday 11th August 2018 early kickoff is Newcastle hosting Spurs.

    Betting Odds

Spurs opened as 1.84 favorite before moving to current 2.07 while draw opened at 3.77 dropping to 3.55 and Newcastle 4.51 home dog to current 3.86 .

Over/Under remains at 2.5 despite majority of bets on over juice is moving towards Under.

Spread Spurs opened as -0.5 favorite on Asian Handicap and despite 86% of bets on Spurs win market is moving towards Newcastle dropping from opening +0.5 at 2.06 to current 1.86 while Spurs have gone from 1.84 to 2.08.

    Betting angle

Even though sharp action is moving towards Newcastle can’t trust them enough never liked early kickoff matchup anyway No Bet. PASS

    Fulham vs Crystal Palace

Newly promoted Fulham kick-start their campaign hosting Crystal Palace in London derby showdown.

    Betting Odds

Fulham opened at 2.31 favorite up to current 2.56 draw dropping from 3.45 to 3.35 and Crystal Palace 3.26 to 3.00.

Over/Under opened at 2.5 and no much action while Fulham opened as -0.25 favorite Asian Handicap before dropping to current 0 in favor of Crystal Palace.

    Betting Angle

Both teams will be desperate for all 3 point on offer and despite Fulham dominating this feature at home give me  Crystal Palace on Asian handicap 0 at a decent price.

    Palace AH 0 @2.16

    Bournemouth vs Cardiff City

Bournemouth will hope to begin their league on a winning ways opening at odds of 2.04 to  do so against Cardiff and since then Bournemouth odds have dropped to 1.88 draw moving to 3.65 from 3.51 while Cardiff have gone up to 4.60 from 3.92.

No much action on Over/Under 2.5 while on Asian odds line is moving towards Bournemouth to cover spread of -0.5 opening at 2.04 to current 1.89.

    Betting Angle

    Back Bournemouth @ 1.94

    Huddersfield vs Chelsea

    Betting Odds

Despite 80% of bets coming on Chelsea win they have moved from opening favorite of 1.51 to 1.62 with draw moving from opening 4.27 to 4.02 against Huddersfield who have  gone from 7.47 to 6.46 home underdog.

Over/Under remains 2.5 with more juice on under against the spread on -1 Huddersfield have gone from 2.01 dog to 1.83 favorite on +1

    Betting Angle

Market is siding with Huddersfield but it’s no bet for me. PASS

Other Two Matchup sees Watford take on Brighton and I wouldn’t discourage anyone fancying a draw here and Everton not to lose at Wolves.

Aberdeen have beaten Dundee in the last 9 meetings going back to 2015 so will take a chance on them

Fell asleep before I could see Hulls tip bring in my second BTTS treble of the week ? think I’ll go down the same route with today’s fixtures.

Not had much time to look at any fixtures today but I have got a £10 free bet to use so putting on BTTS in the following 3 games.

Noticed a few have highlighted Beaton is the referee and Lafferty was booked in all 4 last year so no need for my input. Be waiting for team news before deciding on the Celtic picks but Aberdeen and Rangers brought up a similar bet last week albeit late on… Both teams over 2 cards and BTTS at 13/2. So here’s a shot at this week but changed Celtics too over 1 card

    —National League North – 3PM—

    Spennymoor v Altrincham

The Robins have shown no signs of promotion fear since winning the Evostik NPL title. They’ve carried on their excellent form into the NLN, notching an impressive 3-1 away win against league contenders Southport earlier this week, and a draw v Leamington last Saturday which I was in attendance at – a 2-2 thriller seeing 3 goals scored in almost as many minutes in the second half – all of which I missed whilst still waiting to get served at the club bar !!
Today they face Spennymoor who have so far only managed two draws – 0-0 away at Chester and a 2-2 Home draw v Darlington.

Phil Parkinson has worked wonders since joining last April and completely turned the club around (Alty had two years of consecutive relegation prior to him joining) to winning the title last year, strengthening the squad over summer with some excellent transfers.
Really do think theres value in Altrincham here who will look to further build on the momentum.

    Morning gents

It’s really tough card today in Scotland still a couple of bets that stand out ??????? ⚽️

    Hearts v Celtic KO 12.30pm

When these two meet at Tyncastle you can be assured of an entertaining match and lots of goals. Hearts have been terrific at home since they returned After their stint at Murrayfield having lost just one of their 18 games. They’ve started the season well and look to have goals right through their side

Celtic , we all know how good they are and what they are capable of and they a love coming here . I still think defensively they are suspect at times and I can see Hearts scoring . 13 of the last 14 meetings in Edinburgh have seen over 2.5 goals (50 goals scored) and I can see this being another really entertaining affair with both sides scoring

Back over 2.5 match goals 83/100 (MarathonBet) (NAP)

    *****************************

    Dunfermline v Ross County

The Paes are flying at the moment and it’s been some start to the season for Allan Johnstone’s men. Played 5 won 5 scored 17 which is exceptional considering they lost Nicky Clark and Fraser Aird in the summer to rivals Dundee United. They went to Tannaaice on the opening game of the season last week and left 3-2 victors which was a great result.

They welcome a Ross County side who have also started fairly strongly – they have retained most of last seasons team and have broight back Brian Graham who should score plenty this season

    Chesterfield v Braintree

I have been impressed by the start my side Chesterfield have made, but, at best odds of 8/15 theres little value in the home win.

I do think one bet worth looking at is Charlie Carter anytime scorer. I don’t think either of our forwards will be particularly prolific this season but, Carter plays just behind the forwards and bagged two in midweek to add to the 14 he got for relegated Woking last season

    Charlie Carter anytime scorer 2/1

Hi gents. Still waiting for a bit of form to come from the English leagues before I get involved. Heading to a league I’m more familiar with and hoping for goals,

In Switzerland, Aarau head to Wil on the back of three losses to open their new season, while WIl have enjoyed 2 wins from 3, with their only loss coming against Schaffhausen who lost to bottom placed Chiasso last night. Prices are moving in favour of Aarau and goals and I’m hoping for the same. They’ve conceded 2+ in all three with Wil conceding in two of their three wins. Two of the last three have seen BTTS & Over 2.5, hoping for the same today.

Betvictor have shown their generosity by giving a whopping £1 free bet.

Stuck it on spurs,Bournemouth,Chelsea to win and draws for Fulham and wolves, pays 70 quid.

Couldn’t really call any of the games enough to stick something proper on but still gives a bit of interest in today’s games.

I read an interesting stat about always finishing the season in profit if you do single level stakes on every premier league game where a team is 10-1 or higher.

I’m a West ham fan and we are now 12-1 to beat Liverpool. History suggests those odds are about right but we have strengthened well, although Liverpool have arguably had one of the best windows. I’m usually pessimistic with my team but tempted by decent odds on the double chance (around 4 or 5/1) or just going for the draw.

Will post tomorrow if I do put on, but it won’t be recommended tips, just my own views.

My first official post is in the @admin in-tray awaiting approval. there should be some juicy bits in there for you to get your teeth into. Derby v Leeds.
There’s always at least two sides to a story. and I’m pleased that one of my tips has already been picked by @mr-fixit – the BTTS. Always a good sign.
Appreciate any feedback, good or bad on this match or my picks, please use the thread I’ve started. I’ll have my eyes on it until the match kicks off and probably during it too. Team news will follow at 16:30hrs and if I see anything else that peaks my interest, or one of you guys needs a bit of extra info before the 17:30hrs kick-off, I’ve kept my schedule clear.

    Good luck folks.

    • richb20806 6 years ago

Firmly on this one with a BTTS interest.

If I’m adding my two penneth as a wolves fan who was a little gutted to sell Barry Douglas to Leeds when last season he was immense.

From the back he’s not a bad goal scorer and to be fair his assist record was great last season.

Couple of little bets on Skybet worth an interest.

      To assist 1+ goal 7/2
      To score 13/2
To score from outside the area 20/1

Assisted one of Leeds goals against stoke.

Not sure if he’s on free kicks at Leeds but was frequently at wolves and has a good boot on him. 20/1 is decent.

    Wolves Everton

My post was on yesterday’s thread.

Btts – just below evens and yesterday on this for 5 points.

Sticking my neck out I’d have interest in wolves win and BTTS at 4/1.

11/4 in wolves to score in both halves.

9/1 on wolves to win from behind has been on my mind for a few days.

    Standby for team news.

    • richb20806 6 years ago

Happy with a point after that. We could’ve pressed more but ultimately it’s a good enough start to life in the prem. Still got dedoncker and traore to come in th team and they’ll find their feet. Onwards

    I’m on the following;

    Over 2.5 mgls
    4/5
    **NAP**
    **WON** ✅

    Altrincham double chance

There’s always redemption in the shape of a Brasilian…

CRICIÚMA VS. ATLÉTICO GO (2030 KO):

Quick post but the Brasilian Serie B can be a kind host if your looking for low scoring btts matches and there’s 4 kicking off at 2030 – one in particular looks good to go:

Both sides have scored in 80% of their last 10 consecutive matches with the last 2 H2H’s getting the green light – May’s fixture was a ripsnorter and ended 3-2 to Atletico Go!

More of the same here is a distinct possibility:

Cards tip has just scraped in, apologies. Must do better. 2 winners and 2 losers from me, Small loss overall from level stakes. We have Tuesdays league cup fixture with Oldham to maybe take a look at some of our options but overall, I was disappointed with how we’ve done our football on home turf. It sucks that it was Leeds that put us to the sword but this game has exposed many areas that Derby have to improve. I’ve a sneaky suspicion that I’ve been sucked into the whole Lampard feelgood factor along with every other Derby fan. The honeymoon period is well and truly over, now its time to see if Lampard has a plan b’. 4-3-3 doesn’t work for the personnel we have and if this is the best we’ve got, then we need a rethink. Ledley was out of his depth as holding midfielder in the 4-3-3 and too many players not adding anything. Lawrence bags a great freekick, but little else, Mount was drifting in and out of the match, Waghorn got no service but was wasteful when he did. Bryson seems to have his old agenda of making the runs but nobody is feeding him. Wilson on the right was average, I could go on, but I have to prioritise pulling my teeth out with scissors. Tamori was good but couldn’t keep the ship from sinking on his own. Maybe him and Davies might be a bit better and calamity Keogh put out to pasture, but we need a formation change.
4-2-3-1 would be better but Vydra is now a Burnley player. Maybe its time to bring in the old guard. Martin up front and see if Bryson can fill the Vydra void.
    Must do better.

I’ve thought Keogh has looked bloody awful for a couple of years

Always looks dazed, confused and like he’s blowing out of his arse before 30 mins

    MLS night owl

    Chicago
    Los Angeles fc
    LA Galaxy

    Over 2.5mgs treble 2/1

All 8 overnight MLS games over 2.5mgs 25/1

    Good luck

Managed to get a wee win with Mcilroy under 68.5 doubled with Hulls night owl last night…
    Going for MLS treble tonight:
    LAFC to win and btts
LA Galaxy to win and btts
    Portland to win and btts
    Treble pays just over 20-1
The trends in MLS is btts and the teams towards top of leagues tend to win their home games, all the teams seem to struggle on their travels…I’ll give above a bash….
WD all winners today, good luck ?

There’s late and then there’s LATE…96th minute equaliser after 4 red cards in injury time. Love it ?

There’s always redemption in the shape of a Brasilian…

CRICIÚMA VS. ATLÉTICO GO (2030 KO):

Quick post but the Brasilian Serie B can be a kind host if your looking for low scoring btts matches and there’s 4 kicking off at 2030 – one in particular looks good to go:

Both sides have scored in 80% of their last 10 consecutive matches with the last 2 H2H’s getting the green light – May’s fixture was a ripsnorter and ended 3-2 to Atletico Go!

More of the same here is a distinct possibility:

    BTTS…10/11 (Evens on WH terminal)
    (Bet365)
    ???

    ***WON***

    Longshot:

    CRB
    CRICIUMA
    GUARANI
    SAO BENTO

    BTTS 4-FOLD…15.8/1
    (Bet365)
    ?…just a CRB goal shy

    ???

    Night Owl:

    MONAGAS VS. ZULIA (2300 KO):

Venezuelan football is a bit bizarre for anyone who’s followed a few games but this is a fixture that’s stood me well in recent seasons.

With 5 of the last 6 games between these two going over 2.5 mgs AND both teams scoring, prices look a touch on the high side.
    One selection:

    BTTS…20/23
    (Coral)
    ???

    Good luck ?

      1-0 final score…LOST.
