This coming Monday offers far more high-profile clashes than usual, with two Serie A matches on the cards that will determine the top of the table.

Lecce host AS Roma, who secured the most impressive victory in the opening round. Later, Bologna travel to face Atalanta, who also appear to be in decent form at the start of the season.

Below you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for both Serie A matches on Monday.

Today’s Serie A betting tips & predictions

Lecce vs. AS Roma (5:30pm)

Lecce started the season with a convincing victory, but they have never won their first two matches in the top flight. Roma were phenomenal in the opening round and will certainly be motivated, given their dominance in this fixture in recent years.

Lecce’s last victory over Roma was way back in 2012. Since then, the Wolves have won nine of the 11 matches (D2), and in the last three they haven’t even conceded a goal.

A single match can hardly provide enough information, given that Lecce were knocked out of the Coppa Italia just five days earlier. I believe Roma have what it takes to secure the three points and kick off what could be a special season.

Atalanta vs. Bologna (7:45pm)

Atalanta certainly look a different side now under Maurizio Sarri, with their defence appearing very solid.

What’s interesting, however, is that their goal-scoring record so far hasn’t been all that impressive, so for the time being it seems risky to expect high-scoring matches.

Bologna, however, seem to be in far worse form, and I do not expect them to score at all in this fixture, even though they won the same match 1–0 last season. I am predicting an Atalanta win and under 2.5 goals.
