After five matches on Saturday, we have three more Ligue 1 fixtures on Sunday that will determine how the table looks after this round.
The big question is what will happen to Marseille, who suffered four consecutive defeats before the international break and are bottom of the table. But before their match, there are two interesting fixtures involving Nice and Rennes that we need to discuss.
Continue reading below for our expert tips and predictions for all three Ligue 1 fixtures on Sunday.
Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions
Nice vs. Strasbourg (2pm)
Nice are heading for yet another disappointing season, although there is still plenty of time to turn things round. However, they currently have the league’s weakest attack, even though their defence ranks amongst the best.
Strasbourg are a very interesting case, boasting the second-strongest attack and the third-weakest defence. Their matches are simply full of twists and turns and plenty of goals.
Nice have scored all their goals so far at home and, generally speaking, only perform reasonably well there. Given the visitors’ goal-scoring form, we can expect at least one goal from each team here.

Rennes vs. Auxerre (4:15pm)
Rennes went into their three-week break following a heavy 4-0 defeat to Lyon, but a brilliant opportunity has now opened up for them precisely because of the Kids’ defeat on Friday.
If the other matches go their way, Rennes could well find themselves right at the foot of the top of the table, but to do so they must beat Auxerre, who come into the match on the back of two consecutive wins.
The problem for the visitors is that they have conceded the most goals so far this season, whilst Rennes are particularly strong at home. In my view, a home win is worth backing, and over 1.5 goals for Rennes is also a good option.

Troyes vs. Marseille (7:45pm)
The crisis at Marseille could reach its peak if they lose their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 match. This would equal the team’s worst run of form in the last 40 years.
One ray of hope is that their opponents in this match are in equally poor form, plus the fact that, on paper, on a normal day they are a far weaker side than Marseille.
A three-week break should have been enough for Marseille to find a solution to at least some of their problems and come back stronger. In my opinion, they’ll start the match well and find a way to victory, but I should point out that this is the riskiest pick of the day.
