We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
Burnley scored twice last night as bet 2 won with ease. They generated 1.08 xG from 18 shots with four on target, although were lucky to escape with a draw.
Bet 3 – Norwich City vs Southampton – Wednesday 14th October at 19:45
Norwich City welcome Southampton to Carrow Road with the visitors looking to extend a remarkable scoring record. Southampton have found the net in all nine of their Championship matches this season, while Norwich have conceded in every league fixture.
The home side's defensive record provides the strongest argument for backing Southampton to score. Norwich have conceded eight goals across four Championship matches at Carrow Road, averaging two per game, and have yet to keep a home clean sheet.
Their underlying figures offer little reassurance. Norwich are allowing 1.63 expected goals against (xGA) per home match and conceding an average of 2.25 big chances. Those numbers suggest opponents are regularly finding opportunities in dangerous positions.
Norwich's latest home fixture produced a 4-3 defeat against Bolton Wanderers, continuing a pattern of matches in which their attacking productivity has been undermined by defensive problems. They also conceded twice against West Bromwich Albion, while Burnley and Birmingham City both managed to score at Carrow Road.
Southampton's away scoring record is particularly relevant. The visitors have found the net in all four Championship away matches, scoring exactly once on each occasion. Although four goals from four away fixtures is not an especially prolific return, their underlying attacking numbers suggest they are creating enough opportunities to maintain that record.
Southampton average 1.27 expected goals (xG) per away match, alongside 4.50 shots on target and 10.75 attempts from inside the penalty area. They also create 2.25 big chances per away fixture. That attacking output compares favourably with Norwich's defensive numbers, particularly their tendency to concede high-quality opportunities.
Southampton have scored 20 goals across their opening nine Championship matches, demonstrating that their attacking threat extends beyond their more modest away returns. The selection does not require Southampton to dominate possession or win the match. They need only convert one opportunity against a Norwich defence that has failed to keep a clean sheet all season.
With Southampton scoring in every league fixture and Norwich conceding in every match, Norwich no clean sheet is a strong selection based on the current-season evidence.
