After making it back-to-back winners in Madrid on Tuesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Conference League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Hajduk Split vs Ajax
🇪🇺 Conference League
⏰ Thursday 15 October, 17:45
Croatian HNL leaders Hajduk Split welcome Dutch giants Ajax to the Poljud Stadium on Thursday night on MD1 of the Conference League, in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Gonzalo Garcia’s hosts have fired in an impressive 37 goals across their opening 17 matches in league and Europe this season, with 21 (57%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Whites have found the back of the net in all nine (100%) of those matches at home – scoring 2+ goals in eight (89%) of them – and will be confident of continuing their impressive goal-scoring record at home against an Ajax backline that has kept just two clean sheets this season, with neither of them coming in Europe.
Michel’s visitors have scored an equally impressive 44 goals across their opening Eredivisie and Conference League fixtures this season, with 21 (48%) of them coming across their six road trips.
The Amsterdam giants have found the back of the net in all 14 (100%) of those matches, scoring 2+ goals in 12 (86%) of them – including in all six in Europe – and will be confident of breaching a Split backline that has shipped multiple goals in four of their past five continental clashes.

Bet of the Day
Ajax’s matches have been entertaining this season, particularly in Europe, with their six Conference League qualifiers averaging a staggering 5.33 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing on each occasion.
Hajduk Split are no strangers to high-scoring encounters themselves this season, with their eight continental clashes averaging an eye-catching 3.88 goals per game, with each of their last five and six of their past seven going Over 2.5 Goals.
Ajax are favourites, but given Hajduk’s goal-scoring record at home this campaign, I’m happy to back three or more goals, with both teams contributing.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
