ANDY MURRAY turned on the style yesteday to thrash Tomas Berdych and set up a mouthwatering semi-final with Rafa Nadal at the Madrid Masters today.

The Scot has won just one of their eight meetings on clay – and it came in the Madrid final last year.

Normal service was resumed when Nadal dumped the British No.1 in last month's Monto Carlo semi-final and the Spanish clay king heads into this one as 1-2 favourite at Boylesports with Murray a 7-4 chance at bet365.

Murray will hope to at least run his rival close and a three-setter pays 7-4 at Betway while the Scot to win a set is 4-6 at Ladbrokes and Betway.

In the other semi Novak Djokovic looks to extend his winning streak over Kei Nishikori to seven matches and is just 1-7 at BetVictor against Boylesports' 5-1 underdog.

In the boxing ring Manchester's Anthony Crolla is the slight outsider at 11-10 with Coral as he defends his WBA world lightweight title against dangerous Venezuelan challenger Ismael Barroso (39-40, marathonbet).

There's loads more sporting highlights today including the likes of cycling, cricket and rugby so let's hear all your tips and chat and good luck with your bets.

Dragic and JV both getting their totals last night but its was just the main play on Dragic for me. One for tonight. Aldridge has tried carrying the Spurs in both games against the Thunder, they’ll need a better night from Kawhi who I think will be more involved tonight.

    Kawhi Leonard (Spurs) Over 32 PR&A @ 17/20 @ Betway – 2 points

      I’m not a happy bunny!

Just watched the highlights of the Red Sox/Yankees game and the home plate umpire has made a ridiculous call.

With the score at 3-2 Yankees. Red Sox had bases loaded, Ortiz with a 3-1 count and pitch 5 was clearly a ball. That should have been the tieing run walked in.

Not saying that Red Sox would have definitely won the game from that point. But to lose like that is very annoying, to say the least!

Hi fella’s hope ur all well.
huge weekend of boxing, with several interesting matchups, and a awsome card of boxing in las vegas on cinco de mayo day a huge celebration for mexicans who will be cheering on their latest superstar canelo alvarez.

So boxing fan’s and practically everyone involved with boxing is expecting Canelo to brutally knock out Amir khan tonight. I have followed both their career for years ( khan since the olympics)
While khan is up against it ( in more ways than one ) i am going to be betting on the underdog here. Yes it’s highly unlikely he will even get the decision as canelo scorecards are usually very suspicious, ( in particular his last fight where i had him winning a very close decision) the judges scored practically every round to Alvarez.
However i am taking a risk as that’s what betting is about. The reasons why is canelo is extremely overhyped IMO. He has a very impressive record for his young age. but he really has the slowest feet i have seen ( worse than AJ) he plods around the ring throwing single shot’s. and a few combo’s from time to time.
His power is also overrated. he did not hurt matthew hatton one time. ( yes his chin is better than khan’s) but the real question here is : How much more power does canelo have than Maidana? i’d say it was fairly equal.
So im hoping khan can give a career performance here and shock the world.

Khan to win on points: 9/2
Khan to be Knocked down and win 10/1

The undercard has some really fantastic matchups that are extremely tough to call however i have found some value:
    Frankie Gomez V Herrera.

Herrera is smaller, older, and less powerful. those are the 3 main points however he is an extremely crafty boxer who beat danny garcia and was robbed. frankie gomez has suffered outside the ring problems but looks to be more focused than ever and will look to put on a good performance on a huge stage tonight, look for gomez to win a very close deicison.

Gomez to win on points 10/11

    Teixeira V Curtis stevens.

A bit of an uknown here so going Small stakes / Accumulators here.
Teixeira the bigger younger and fresher of the two, record indicates he has alot of power however his level of competion has been very poor. biggest fight of his life tonight agaisnt the power puncher curtis stevens ( took GGG 8 rounds.
He has been out for nearly 2 years and will prolly swing for the fences agaisnt the brazlian prospect Teixeira.

Value heads will be going for stevens as the more proven of the two though im going for the prospect here
    Teixeira to win 4/6

    Chisora V Pulev
Just quickly so i dont spam the page. im taking pulev here, chisora could hustle pulev to a decision, however that is unlikely considering it’s in germany. Pulev has more skill’s, more reach more height and probobly more power. I expect pulev to jab chisora’s face off to a clear UD

Pulev to win on points 11/10

    Crolla V Barroso
50/50 fight here, im beginning to wonder if i should be taking the more proven crolla here on points but my my first reaction when i saw the fight was Barroso by KO, so i will be sticking to that.
Mitchell was faded yes. but i think barroso is the real deal and will stop crolla late tonight.

    Barroso KO 6/4
    Barroso to win evens

    GL all!

Great write up mulac all comments taken on board

  7. handyman22 8 years ago

Good write up Mulac I’m about to throw down a couple of similar selections but I see things a bit differently. No time for a huge write up as I’m on the way to work.

Pulev vs Chisora under 10.5 rounds @ 5/4

Frankie Gomez on points 10/11 NAP

    Barboza by KO 6/4

    Canelo between round 4-6 10/3

Agree with what was said about Khans speed, but I feel after a few frustrating rounds for Alvarez he will make the adjustments necessary and take him out inside 6. If it goes inter the latter stages Canelo might be searching for that KO but he is too experienced at this level and Khan will have to pull out every trick in the book to dodge and dip for 12 rounds with the slight weight increase being an unknown factor aswell. As for Pulev vs Chisora I feel as though Chisoras pressing game suits Pulev and if Chisors does not catch him with them wide angled shots Pulev will punish his mistakes.
Frankie Gomez not much to say, young up and comer vs a classy veteran and I think Gomez will ease clear in the opening rounds on the scorecard.

    Best of luck anybody following!
Will post UFC bets tomorrow morning.

The certainly looks like what will happen on paper. however i will be cheering for khan regardless.

I think pulev/chisora has distance written all over it mate unless chisora’s chin has been cracked ( which i dont think it has) i definitely can see him getting dropped but neither chisora or pulev are huge punchers. chisora knows this is make or break time i dont see him quitting like the fury fight.

      GL all the same!

Obviously meant Barrosso, brain is not functioning today ha ha

Not a bad nights work, NAP landed and Canelo showed his power with a brutal 6th round knockout. Khan looked classy in the first 4 rounds but got caught with a cannon of a right. Looking forward to GGG vs Canelo later in the year hopefully, will be backing GGG consindering he will probably be decent odds. Off to bed and onto UFC Stockholm tomorrow!
