Racing Tips – Chatty holds each-way value at Wetherby

It was a good start to the week with both selections winning comfortably on Monday. If you took the double at the advised odds, it paid roughly 5.5/1, not the greatest of prices for a double but it at least recoups some of the losses from the start of the month.

Not much jumped out to me as a bet besides one horse running in the evening meeting at Wetherby on Tuesday.

Chatty 10/1 EW – Wetherby 8:30

I thought Chatty was an interesting runner in this contest and looks like a good each-way play in a pretty open race on paper.

My selection has only had a handful of rides so far in his career, but displayed glimpses of potential in his second last race of last season in a class 4 at Beverley, narrowly missing out on victory after being ridden prominently from the front by jockey Duran Fentiman. The first and second that day haven't done much in terms of boosting the form, however, the fourth, fifth, and last-placed horses have all come out and won races since.

My selection was unable to follow up on the Beverley performance in his subsequent race at Newcastle, but his recent comeback run at Redcar last month on handicap debut was an eye-catching one and left the impression that he could progress further this season.

I caught a replay of his recent run at Redcar and I have to say, I was impressed with the run and how the horse traveled, despite only finishing fifth on the day. Chatty encountered traffic problems on multiple occasions, finding himself short of racing room when starting to make headway on the bridle at the two pole. Once in the clear, Chatty ran on well to hit the line hard, leaving the impression he had a bit more left in the tank.
