Southampton's club-record 25-game unbeaten run came to an end at Bristol City on Tuesday and boss Russell Martin will be aiming for his side to bounce right back at West Bromwich Albion this evening.
That defeat saw the Saints surrender second place to Leeds United but Martin was philosophical in the aftermath, preferring to focus on how his side will respond than dwell on the loss.
It doesn’t come much more difficult than a trip to the Hawthorns at the moment, where West Brom have won five on the spin the league, keeping four clean sheets in the process. Only Huddersfield and runaway league leaders Leicester City have won there this season in the Championship.
The Baggies are bang in contention for the Play-Offs, sitting fifth, four points ahead of Coventry City but there’s a list of clubs down to 10th who are chasing, so they need to keep ahead of the pack.
Southampton were 2-1 winners when the sides met at St Mary’s and the bookies make them favourites tonight at 11/8 with the hosts at 19/10 but it’s the draw that appeals in this one, with a share of the spoils perhaps suiting both sides.
Southampton could find it difficult to pick themselves up again whilst West Brom would no doubt settle for a point against one of the top three sides in the league so far.
Raith Rovers went five points clear of Dundee Utd when they won 1-0 at Tannadice back on December 16th but it’s been a tale of woe ever since.
Just one win in the next six has followed, meaning United can go seven points ahead of Rovers if they win at Starks Park tonight.
It’s been a spectacular collapse by Ian Murray’s side who have also crashed out of the Scottish Cup and Challenge Cup in that period.
United have stuttered a bit themselves but not on the road where they remain unbeaten (W9 D2) and have conceded just three goals in the league.
Based on current form the bet has to be with the league leaders at 19/20.

Like the look of this game for goals. Has been plenty in Iceland the last few weeks and very few games see a lack of them. Premier league Fram take on division 1 IR but expect both teams to contribute.
