Portugal have kept six clean sheets in their six Group J games so far and are on track for the rare feat of qualifying without conceding.
They host low-scoring Slovakia who sit second in the group despite only scoring eight goals. Half of those have come in two games against Liechtenstein so a seventh win to nil for the Portuguese at 5/6 looks a good option.
In the same group, Luxembourg pose the biggest condundrum of all in Euro 2024 qualifying. They’ve shipped 15 goals across two games to Portugal (0-9 & 0-6) but have conceded just once in their other four, picking up an impressive 10 points from a possible 12 to leave themselves just three points off a qualifying place with four games to play.
Tonight they’re in Iceland, whom they beat 3-1 at State de Luxembourg last month. Their hosts are on six points after six games thanks to wins over Liechtenstein and Bosnia & Herzegovina and look to be shadow of the side we saw make a huge impact at Euro 2016.
If, as expected, Slovakia lose in Portugal this evening, a win for Luxembourg would draw them level on points with the Slovaks ahead of a crucial clash in the grand duchy on Monday. So plenty to play for and at 7/2 they could be a lively outsider tonight.
Match of the night is in Amsterdam where the top two in Group B meet. France thumped the Netherlands in the opening match of the group so revenge will be in the air for the Dutch.
It’s not a vintage era for the Dutch and if the French bring their A-game they can put a big dent in the Clockwork Oranges’ qualification hopes with a win at 5/4.
Unbelievably, after four defeats in five, Republic of Ireland can still qualify for the finals but they’re surely just playing for pride in Group B now.
They’ve fallen to narrow defeats to France (0-1) and the Netherlands (1-2) in Dublin but should be capable of avenging a 2-1 defeat to Greece back in June.

Must win game for Ireland to keep any very slim hopes of qualification alive. Likewise Greece will know points in this game are vital with Holland playing France tonight, especially with them facing Holland at home in 3 days time. Think this has a good chance to be quite an open end to end game also helped by Greece playing a lot more attacking football since Poyet took charge. Based on this I like the look of corners. There were 15 corners when they faced each other previously. With a lot at stakes for both sides I like the look of cards as well. Ireland have had a booking in the 2nd half in 11 out of 12 of the last competitive games. They also average 1.56 cards in the 2nd half and Greece 1.6 with totals of 3.56 and 3. Another must win game for the hosts in this one but also an important game for the away side who are close to pulling off a huge shock and qualifying for the first time. Slovakia are likely to lose in Portugal this evening meaning a win for Luxembourg would put them level, with them facing Slovakia at home in a few days.
