Think the prices are generous for England women tonight as they take on NI. Played three time recently at England have won 4-0, 5-0 & 6-0. In the last 8 meetings England are 44-2 against NI. Managers has said there won’t be too many changes from the team that beat Norway 8-0. Even if it is the second stringers, I still think they will be far to good.

I was amazed to see this bet at odds against, especially with the gulf between the teams and with the way England dispatched a decent Norway team 8-0 last game.
England are miles better than semi professional Northern Ireland and this will surely be about how many England score. Their 8-0 demolition of Norway was something to behold and they’ve really hit their straps now. They also haven’t looked like conceding yet, Norway and Austria barely got out of their own half v England; a combined total of 3 shots on target was all both could muster. Northern Ireland have lost to both Austria (2-0) and Norway (4-1) and it could be a case of just defending deep and keeping the scoreline down against the mighty Lionesses. It would be an almighty shock if they became the first team to breach the English defence this tournament. In fact, England have only conceded 1 goal in their last 7 games – against their tournament rivals Holland in a crushing 5-1 win.
England have played Northern Ireland twice recently in World Cup qualifiers. England won 0-5 in Belfast in April and 4-0 at Wembley last October. In both of those games combined, Northern Ireland mustered just a single shot. I can see a similar game this time around at a packed out St Mary’s.
The only thing that can stop this bet landing – in my opinion – is if England make sweeping changes due to them already qualifying for the knockout stages. I’ll be keeping a close eye on team news when it’s announced.
