THE Premier League makes its long-awaited return on Saturday but there are just four matches on the opening day.
Punters will be able to watch them all live but I'm a little old-fashioned and would prefer matches to kick off at the same time. It's better for betting purposes and especially if you're looking for cash-out possibilities.
First up we have Fulham vs Arsenal at 12.30pm then the only 3pm kick-off at Crystal Palace vs Southampton.
After that I'm looking forward to Liverpool vs Leeds at 5.30pm and it will be interesting to see how well the champions start against the promoted men.
And finally it's West Ham vs Newcastle and if you manage to watch all four you'll deserve a medal.
The English lower leagues return and as always they'll be tough to call in the early days.
In Scotland there are six Premiership games including Rangers vs Dundee United and Ross County vs Celtic.
St Mirren vs Hibs goes ahead despite all three of the home side's keepers, Jak Alnwick, Dean Lyness and Peter Urminksy, testing positive and being unavailable. The Buddies are trying to sign a keeper on an emergency loan.
And on the Continent we have matches in the likes of Spain, France, Belgium and Holland as well as German Cup ties.

Saturdays tips
No form to go on for most leagues, so there wasn’t loads I liked in terms of goals or team goals. Instead for my NAP I’m going with 2 away sides in the EPL who I don’t think will lose, Southampton and my own side Newcastle. Saints were excellent away from home last year and I’m hoping this continues today against a palace side with loads of injuries. I can’t see them losing and will also be backing them to win in a longshot acca. As for my own side I’m really pleased with the business they’ve done in the transfer window so far and I might have the black and white tinted glasses on but I think we now have a front 4 equal to or better than anyone else outside of the “big 6” and I’m hoping they all start today although I have my doubts about Fraser. Even so we’ve won 3-2 on 2 of our last 3 visits there and will have no fear from a West Ham side who conceded 5 to Bournemouth last week. Friendly or not that was a shocker in their final warm up game.

I think Heerenveen will have a tough season. Pundits and fans all have there doubts about this team and it looks like they will not be able to have a top half finish which is normal for a club of this size. They had a terrible pre-season and have won only once in their last 10 leagues games. Willem II kept most of their squad together who sealed a spot in Europa League qualifiers this season and I can’t see them lose up in the north.

Hope so/ been on my c**t list for years, no idea why I put faith in them today, absolute sham of a club
I would be giving Reading the credit they deserve for todays performance, i mentioned last season how they had the 6th best away record but the 3rd worst home record. I bet against them with Brentford when Joao was injured for them i said he was the key to bet and he returned today being the best player on the pitch. I am really interested to see how they perform at home next weekend and see if they continue last seasons trend. I have jotted down a couple of games in October but obviously that is a long way away.
There was interesting results today from my other bets last season with Shefield Wednesday hitting 6 corners today (albeit without the key player i mentioned).
Salford who were a gold mine last season with their habit of drawing at home at winning away started with a home draw it will be interesting to see what they do away from home next weekend.
I will be keeping an eye on these bets for the coming weeks as i always do with my previous years selections just to see if there is any more to give from them. No doubt i will spot something else but very unlikely i will bet in September. I will continue to “think out loud” with posts like these until i find my next bet. Apologies if my long posts annoy some.
