Monday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Nations League and I’ve selected two sides who should be too strong for their opponents to find the back of the net at least twice.

Latvia 🇱🇻 vs Liechtenstein 🇱🇮

🇪🇺 Nations League

⏰ Monday 6th June, 17:00

Two sides who made contrasting starts to their Nations League Campaign meet in Riga, as Latvia play host to Liechtenstein at the Daugava Stadium.

Latvia kicked off their Nations League campaign with a 3-0 win over Andorra on Friday evening. That’s now back-to-back victories in the Nations League for Dainis Kazakeviès’s side, with them winning 0-5 away to Andorra in November 2020. As expected, Latvia failed to qualify for their first World Cup in Qatar this year, but they did avoid finishing bottom, as they finished in fifth spot, just three points behind Montenegro in fourth. 11 vilki managed to collect nine points from their 10 qualifiers, winning both meetings with Gibraltar 3-1.

Liechtenstein began their Nations League campaign with a 0-2 defeat at home to Moldova. Liechtenstein also failed to qualify for their first World Cup later in the year, as Martin Stocklasa’s side managed to claim just a single point from their 10 qualifiers. The Blues-Reds conceded a total of 34 goals in World Cup qualifying, with 21 of those goals being conceded whilst on their travels.

Slovakia 🇸🇰 vs Kazakhstan 🇰🇿

🇪🇺 Nations League

⏰ Monday 6th June, 19:45

Two sides who kicked-off their Nations League campaign with a victory meet in Trnava, as Slovakia play host to Kazakhstan at the Anton Malatinský Stadium.

Slovakia scored just past the hour mark away to Belarus to kick off their Nations League campaign with all three points. Slovakia failed to qualify for this years World Cup as Štefan Tarkoviè’s side finished in third position, eight points behind second-placed Russia. In qualifying, The Falcons only defeat in-front of their own supporters came against group winners Croatia, with the Slovaks winning two and drawing two of their other four qualifiers at home, scoring on multiple occasions in each match.

Kazakhstan began their Nations League campaign with a victory, as two quick-fire goals at the start of the second-half gave them a 2-0 win over Azerbaijan. Magomed Adiyev’s side has a tough World Cup qualifying campaign, as they finished bottom of their group, collecting just three points from their eight qualifiers. The Hawks failed to register a clean sheet in those eight qualifiers, conceding a total of 20 goals.

Bet of the Day

Latvia began their Nations League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Andorra on Friday and they’ll be expected to collect another three points at home to the third-lowest ranked European nation in the FIFA rankings. As well as scoring three times against Andorra on Friday, Dainis Kazakeviès’s hosts scored three times in both matches against Gibraltar in World Cup qualification and I’m backing them to make the net bulge at least twice against a Lichtenstein side than conceded 34 times in their 10 World Cup qualifiers.
Both Slovakia and Kazakhstan made winning starts to their Nations League campaign but it’s the hosts that are expected to record back-to-back wins. Stefan Tarkoviè’s side scored on multiple occasions in 4/5 of their World Cup qualifiers at home (only failing to do so against group winners Croatia) and I’m expecting them to bag another brace against a Kazakhstan side that conceded 20 goals in their eight World Cup qualifiers.
