Monday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into both the Israeli and English Premier League and the home sides in both should be too strong for their opponents.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Beitar Jerusalem

🇮🇱 Premier League

⏰ Monday 7th March, 18:30

Maccabi Tel Aviv will look to close the gap on the sides above them, as they host Beitar Jerusalem at Bloomfield Stadium. The hosts are currently 3rd, but can go within two points of 2nd-placed Hapoel Be’er Sheva with a win, whilst the visitors are only above the bottom side on goal difference.

Maccabi Tel Aviv continued their strong run of form in the second-half of the season, as they won 1-3 away to bottom side Hapoel Nof HaGalil. Mladen Krstajić’s side have now lost just one of their last 17 matches in the Israeli Premier League (W12-D4-L1), with their sole defeat coming away to league leaders Maccabi Haifa. Seven of those wins have came in their last eight matches, with Maccabi winning each of their last five league matches. Maccabi Tel Aviv are the leagues second-highest scorers and have found the back of the net 43 times, with 17 of those coming in their last seven matches.

Beitar Jerusalem could only draw 1-1 at home to Bnei Sakhnin last time out, meaning Yossi Abukasis’s side have won just one of their last 15 in the league (W1-D6-L8). Beitar Jerusalem have collected just 20 points from their opening 24 matches this season, with just eight of those points coming away from home. The Lions from the Capital particularly struggle against the leagues better sides, collecting just four points from a possible 36 against the top-half sides (W0-D4-L8), with just one of those points coming away from home.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Monday 7th February, 20:00

Tottenham will look to close the gap on the sides above them in the table, as they host Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The hosts are currently 7th, but can go above West Ham into 6th with a win, whilst the visitors are 17th and a point above the relegation zone.

Prior to their shock FA Cup defeat away to Championship Middlesbrough, Tottenham had secured an emphatic 0-4 win away to Leeds United. It’s been a mix bag for Antonio Conte’s side in recent weeks, with his side losing four of their last six in the league, but winning away to champions Manchester City. Two of those defeats came in each of their last two home games against both Southampton and Wolves, but Spurs do have a good record against bottom-half sides. The Lilywhites have won all five matches at home to bottom-half sides are the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, scoring 10 goals.

Prior to their 2-0 win over non-league Boteham Wood in the FA Cup, Everton suffered an agonising 0-1 defeat at home to champions Manchester City. The Toffees have now won just once in the league since their 2-1 win over Arsenal at the start of December, losing six if they’d last seven. No side has collected fewer points on their travels than Frank Lampard’s side, collecting just six points from a possible 36 (W1-D3-L8). Everton have recorded just four clean sheets from their 24 league matches this season, conceding 41 goals.

Bet of the Day

Maccabi Tel Aviv can go within six points of league leaders Maccabi Haifa with a win at home to lowly Beitar Jerusalem. The hosts come into this winning seven of their last eight in the Israeli Premier League and should be too strong for a Beitar Jerusalem side that are winless in their 12 matches against top-half sides this season and who have won just once in their last 15 matches. Tottenham can go within three points of rivals Arsenal, as they take on a struggling Everton side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Antonio Conte’s side have been inconsistent in recent weeks but should be too strong for an Everton side with the worst away record in the Premier League. Spurs have scored on multiple occasions in 6/7 at home under the management of the Italian and I like the look of them to score another brace against an Everton side that’s already conceded 23 goals in their 12 matches away from Goodison Park.
