Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into Serie A and there’s a side at home who I like to collect all three points. To boost the odds up, I’ve added a cards based angle.

Fiorentina vs Udinese

🇮🇹 Serie A

⏰ Wednesday 27th April, 17:00

Fiorentina will look to climb above both Roma and Lazio into fifth in the Serie A table, as they host mid-table Udinese at the Artemio Franchi. The hosts are currently positioned in seventh, two points behind fifth-placed Roma, whilst the visitors are 12th, 15 points clear of the relegation zone.

Fiorentina saw their three-match winning run come to an end last time out, as they lost 2-1 away to Salernitana. Vincenzo Italiano’s side have won 10 of their last 13 at home in Serie A (W10-D2-L1), including each of their last three. In fact, only reigning champions Inter (39) have collected more points at home in the Italian top-flight this season than the 35 Fiorentina have earned. No side has drawn more cards at home in Serie A than Fiorentina, with La Viola’s opponents collecting 54 yellows and two reds in their 16 fixtures at the Franchi. All 16 of Fiorentina’s visiting opponents have collected at least one card, with 14 of them collecting at least two and 13 of them earning at least three.

Udinese failed to get back to winning ways following their 0-1 loss at home to Salernitana, as they could only draw 2-2 away to Bologna, despite leading 1-2. Gabrielle Cioffi’s visitors have won just three times on their travels this season, with those victories coming against Venezia (20th), Cagliari (17th) and Spezia (15th). Udinese have a wretched recent record at the Franchi, losing each of their last 13 Serie A fixtures away to Fiorentina, last tasting success in 2007. Only four sides in Serie A have collected more yellow cards than the 84 Udinese have earned, with the Friulani also seeing red on six occasions this season. Udinese have been carded in all 33 of their Serie A fixtures this season, earning 2+ in 28 of them.

Bet of the Day

Fiorentina’s three-match winning run came to an end away to Salernitana last time out but if they collect all three points at home to Udinese, they’ll climb above both of the capital clubs into fifth. Vincenzo Italiano’s side have the second-best home record in the Italian top-flight and come into this having W10-D2-L1 of their last 13 fixtures at the Franchi and I’m expecting them to collect all three points against an Udinese side who’s three wins away from home this season have all came against sides 15th and below in the table. Also, La Viola have a remarkable record at home to Udinese, with them winning each of their last 13 Serie A fixtures against them. To boost the price up I’ve added the visitors to collect at least two cards. All 16 of Fiorentina’s visiting opponents have been carded, with 14 of them collecting 2+ and 13 of them 3+, whilst the visitors have been carded in all 33 of their Serie A matches this season, collecting multiple cards in 28 of them.
