Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once more tackle the Nations League and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

🇳🇱 Netherlands vs Belgium 🇧🇪

🇪🇺 Nations League

⏰ Sunday 25th September, 19:45

The Netherlands will look to secure their place in the semi-finals of the Nations League, as they play host to near-neighbours Belgium at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday evening.

The Netherlands maintained their three-point lead at the top of Group A4 on Thursday evening, as they won 0-2 in Warsaw against Poland. Louis Van Gaal’s side have done the double over Wales, collected four points out of six against the Poles and thrashed Belgium 1-4 in the reverse fixture at the start of June. Oranje have banged in a total of 13 goals in their five Nations League outings, scoring on multiple occasions in each of them. The Dutch have conceded six times in their previous five Nations League fixtures, with their sole clean sheet coming against Poland last time out.

Belgium maintained their slim hopes over-taking their upcoming opponents at the top of the table, as they defeated Wales 2-1 in Brussels on Thursday night. Since their opening day thrashing at home to the Dutch, Roberto Martínez’ troops have gone on to win three of their next four matches in Group A4 – drawing the other fixture 1-1 away at Wales. As well as scoring in all eight of their World Cup qualifiers, The Red Devils have struck in all five of their Nations League outings, finding the back of the net on 11 occasions. The Belgians have only managed one clean sheet in the Nations League, conceding seven times.

Netherlands vs Belgium Match Preview

Bet of the Day

Belgium travel to Amsterdam knowing they must score at least four goals if they are to finish above the Dutch at the top of the Group A4. Giving Roberto Martínez’s side need to go for it, I’m expecting goals in what should be an open and entertaining encounter at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday evening.

The Dutch have scored 13 goals in their five Nations League fixtures, scoring on multiple occasions in each of them and they’ll be confident of adding to that tally against a Belgian defence that’s conceded in 4/5 of their group matches. However, Louis Van Gaal’s hosts have kept only one clean sheet themselves and with the visiting Red Devils having scored in all five of their Nations League outings and given they need to go for it, I expect them also to contribute in a match that should see at least three strikes.
