Today’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 where I fancy all 4 sides in action to score.

Borussia Dortmund vs Hoffenheim

🇩🇪 Bundesliga

⏰ Friday 27th August, 19:30

Borussia Dortmund host Hoffenheim at Signal Iduna Park to kickoff match-day 3 in the Bundesliga. Both sides matches so far this season have been full of goals and this is a fixture that usually produces goals.

After defeat to Bayern in the German Super Cup, Dortmund travelled to the Black Forest and once more were defeated 2-1 by Freiburg. Finding the back of the net has been no trouble for the black and yellow as they’ve scored 10 goals in their four competitive matches. Dortmund scored in all 17 home games last season in the Bundesliga scoring 40 goals. They do remain vulnerable at the back as they’ve conceded in their last three games, conceding 6 times.

Hoffenheim continued their unbeaten start against Union Berlin as they drew 2-2. That followed up an opening day 0-4 victory away to Augsburg. Going back to last season, Hoffenheim have scored in 15 of their last 18 away matches. That clean sheet away to Augsburg was a rare one as they’ve also conceded in 15 of their last 18 matches on the road. Hoffenheim have scored in 12 of their last 13 visits to Signal Iduna Park including in each of their last 7.

Nantes vs Lyon

🇫🇷 Ligue 1

⏰ Friday 27th August, 20:00

Lyon travel to the Louis Fonteneau to take on Nantes in the opening Ligue 1 fixture of match-day 4. Both sides haven’t had great starts to the season, winning just one of their six matches combined.

Nantes lost their first game of the season last time out as Rennes defeated them 1-0. Despite only just staving off relegation last season, Nantes did usually find the back of the net at home, scoring in 15 of their 19 matches. That looks to have continued this season as they scored twice in a 2-0 win over Metz in their opening home game of the season. That was a rare clean sheet in that match as they only kept two clean sheets at home last season.

Lyon’s poor start to the season continued as they threw away a two goal lead to draw 3-3 at home to newly promoted Clermont. That took their tally to 7 goals conceded in their first three games of the season. Going back to last season, Lyon have conceded in their last 8 Ligue 1 matches on the road. Their 3-0 defeat away to Angers was the first time since their opening away game last season that Lyon haven’t scored in.

Bet of the Day

There is usually goals when both Dortmund and Hoffenheim meet and I’m expecting the same on Friday night. Both sides score plenty of goals with the likes of Haaland and Kramaric on show but are more than suspect at the back. New Lyon manager Peter Bosz is known for his style of play and I’m once more backing both to score in one of his games. Nantes usually score at home and Lyon away but both defences struggle for clean sheets.
