MONDAYS aren't our favourite day of the week but there's one game that looks to have some decent value we can take advantage of today.
After Saturday's success with Videoton, today we're looking to Icelandic football to bring the bacon home and keep up the 100% record since we arrived here on MrFixitsTips.
HK KOPAVOGUR v VIDIR, Monday, 6pm (Bet365 & William Hill)
HK Kopavogur face up to Vidir in what is billed as a League Cup match. The league season hasn't begun in Iceland yet and they play numerous pre-season tournaments which all seem to get called the League Cup. This doesn't make life easy when it comes to trying to study these matches and track down any previous action but this is both teams' first game in the group section of whatever this tourney is.
Icelandic League Cup B Dield 1
HK are a third-tier side who narrowly failed to gain promotion last season on goal difference. They've already taken part in one pre-season tourney where they took a few heavy beatings including a 7-1 defeat to Premier League champions FH Hafnarfjordur and a 3-2 defeat to top tier side IA Akranes. HK have managed to score in all six of the games they've played so far though and even managed a 6-3 victory over Tindastoll and a 2-1 win against Njardvik, both tier two sides.
Where this one gets interesting is when we look at the opposition. Vidir are a fourth tier side in Iceland. Last season the fourth tier teams were split into four groups with Vidir being placed in the third of these groups and ended the season by winning it, undoubtedly a proud moment for them, but when you look at the fact the bottom team conceded 175 goals in 15 games you see the level of where we are at. Vidir appear to have been moved into this level of League Cup action on the basis of winning their section and are the only fourth tier team in the group.
HK scored three, four and five in the group stages of this competition last season against opposition from their own league while Vidir conceded six to a team from their own tier. If the HK that put six past Tindastoll recently turn up here this could go big. Two fourth tier sides have already faced up to third tier opposition in this tournament with them both losing, 3-2 and 5-2.
Don't go mad stakes on this one, as the Vidir of this season are a bit of an unknown but this game should undoubtedly see goals, with HK the likely team to be getting them. This match is also being played at an indoor stadium so no worries about the state of the pitch here.
RECOMMENDATIONS
O1.5ht goals @ Evs/10/11
O3.5ft & O4.5ft goals @ 4/5 & 13/8
O3.5 HK Team Goals @ 2/1
O4.5ft & Team Goals relies on Bet365 or William Hill offering these markets in-play
I’ll have a punt on this, cheers :)
What bookie are you betting with? I’ve been on oddschecker and only sporting bet have odds on the FT
Andy G, bet365 had prices and Hills were supposed to be doing it in-play. To be honest you might need a bet365 account to get the best from Bounty Hunter’s tips.
lol…second HK goal went in on the stroke of Half Time. Hopefully another great tip. : )
Paul, it’s been all HK but they took their time with the second. Hopefully add a few more after the break.
Mr Fixit, yeah I have been watching the stats on Bet365/Hills and all HK as you say. Hopefully the third will be come soon! :)
Phew, the over 1.5 first half goals just came in by a whisker in stoppage time :)
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Bounty Punters 100% record continues!!! Over 1.5 goals in the 1st half was looking very dodgy, then, 2 minutes in to 1st half added time 2-0!!! UNREAL! Keep these tips coming! Hope over 3.5, over 4.5 and over 3.5 HK goals comes in now!
4-1 or 5-0 would be lovely!
I’ve gone in on all the Bounty Punter’s tips again today, why not after recent successes? That was close but it came in! Here’s hoping for a goal laden second half.
Rick, nothing’s ever guaranteed but the 100 per cent record is maintained.
Missed out on this, just seen it. Will be keeping a eye out for next time
Stuck a quid on over 3.5 goals at 2-0
Halfway through second half and no addition to the score. Fair to say over 4.5 goals is unlikely now unless Vidir fall apart. Would be delighted with over 3.5 goals.
Theres the 3rd. 3-0 now. Just under 20 to go. C’mon 2 more goals.
4-0!!! BP is turning into a MrFixitsTips Legend!
10 mins to go and HK are 21/20 to get a fifth. Shot count is 31 – 2. Got to be worth an in-play punt?
Looks like theres some confusion on Bet365 In-Play. Looked like it flashed up a 5th goal, then the score went to 3-0. Whats going on?
Is it 3-0, 4-0 or 5-0? Confused!
Disallowed! If it finishes 3-0, I will be raging, especially after the Griffiths fiasco yesterday.
My mobile showing 3-0?
Hmm, looks like its back to 3-0. I put a bet on it being over 4.5 at 21/20, when it was showing 4-0 – surely they;ll void that bet eh?
Thats the breaks !
I am rather confused, Bet365 have paid out my bets on over 3.5 and over 3.5 for Kopa already!
As I speak, Vidir have snatched a goal back so over 3.5 is safe!
bet365 have paid out to me too… I had HK 03.5, I’ve withdrawn
Anyone know what the final score was? Was watching the in-play updates on Hills and it disappeared at 4-0 with about 20 minutes to go!
FInished 3-1 I believe. Bet365 paid me out on over 3.5 for HK too though. And voided my in-play bet.
Ended up in profit which is all we can ask for. Great tips again BP.
only got on just after half time for over 3.5 goals. another winner, 3 out of 3, thanks!
I missed out on today
The Bounty Punter strikes again: Gets over 1.5 HT right, 3.5 FT right and was a disallowed goal away from having over 3.5 HK goals right too. Obscure leagues seem to be way forward!
Rick, I know he was disappointed about the disallowed goal and missing the full house but his strike rate remains impressive. And to pull out a game like that takes a lot of work.
He can’t get them all right Paul! But he sure gets plenty on the button and at the end of the day, his research will be rewarded I think.
Rick, sometimes more is less. He’s being fairly selective with his picks and not rushing in and that’s the way to go.
After the excellent Videoton selection on the weekend and tonight`s winner, I owe Bounty Punter a pint or two :)
Has he anymore planned for this week`s fixtures Mr Fixit?
Thanks!
Paul, Bounty Punter will be putting up regular tips but not every day and only when he spots a gem. With him it will quality rather than quantity. Best bet is to keep checking the site because I don’t get much prior warning to the post. With these more obscure games he has to wait to see what markets are available and likes to see as up to date teams news as possible.
Hi Rick, yep fully aware of that (have been betting for years on the overs markets particularly in-play) but the research behind these last two bets was clearly top notch. :)
Hi Bounty Punter ou are doing well with your selections, can you help me with some info I had asked Paul yesterday if he could find a bookmaker who could give odds for the Africa league http://www.mtnfootball.com/africa/cote-d-ivoire/ligue-1-mtn/#. If you could help i would be obliged. By the way Paul the bet I done for yankee 3 of them won so a nice wee profit.Have put some of the winnings on the game in progress between Lanus & Arsenal over 2.5 @7/4.
Tickety, I’ll chin about this tomorrow incase he doesn’t see it.
For a rugby team, a 43-0 defeat would be hard to take: but for a football side it is an absolute hammering.
That, however, is the latest loss suffered by Caerphilly Castle Ladies in the Women’s Welsh Premier League.
Sadly, it is not the first time they have been mauled this season, as they have also been on the wrong end of 36-0, 28-0 and 26-0 scorelines.
But the team who have let in 219 goals and scored just one in 10 games say they have no intention of giving up.
We’re putting a brave face on things, but yes it’s tough, and if it went on indefinitely, it would threaten the future of the club”
A mass walkout of their first team to set up rivals Cwmbran FC over the summer has left the team known as the Castle struggling.
However, chairwoman Julie Boyce, who has come out of retirement to strengthen the side of reserves and youth players, said the team would come back stronger.
She said: “We’re putting a brave face on things, but yes it’s tough, and if it went on indefinitely, it would threaten the future of the club. But we’re about more than the first team.”
Today’s plight is a far cry from recent years, when the Castle had been a side to be reckoned with.
They finished mid-table in the last two Welsh Premier League seasons, and in 2010 lifted the Welsh League Cup.
This season has been very different. The solitary goal they managed was against Caernarfon Town, who went on to win 14-1.
But despite the Ladies’ problems, all their age group teams remain in contention for silverware.
In terms of numbers participating at all levels, Caerphilly Castle rival Cardiff City for the title of biggest women’s club in Wales.
Ms Boyce said: “You could argue that we could have done more to help ourselves.
“We could have promoted some of the really talented girls from the under-16s into the first team, and the results would have been nowhere near as embarrassing as they have been.
“But at the start of the season we took the decision that the first team crisis shouldn’t be allowed to disrupt the excellent work we’re doing at youth level.
“We’re taking a long-term view. We’re not going to rush girls through just to window dress this season – we’ll take our time because we know that in a few years we’ll be back bigger and stronger than ever.”
Caerphilly Castle Ladies: 2012/13 results so far

One to look out for ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
Milesey
Are those figures youve shown the scorelines or waistelines of that particular team?
Hi Paul tonites game finnished 2-1 over 2.5 @7/4 nice.
Bet365 took back the winnings they paid out… it’s the williamhill situation all over again.
Weordie, if they pay out by mistake they are entitled to take the winnings back. At the end of the day you shouldn’t have had the winnings and although it’s disappointing they’re entitled to do it. They might give you a free bet if you have a moan.
Well if you’re gonna lose a 100% record then you might aswell do it in style! Chalked off goal cost us the clean sweep in Iceland last night but to be quite honest the bet should’ve been home and hosed long before then.
HK had 34 shots to Vidir’s 3 and also had 13 corners in what was a dominant performance that just lacked the killer instinct. Will be keeping an eye out for Vidir in future rounds of this tourney as they will take a hammering at some point.
Thanks for all the positive feedback, on the case to find some more gems so please be patient, like Mr F says BP will hopefully continue to be about quality rather than quantity.
Tickety, Ivorian football ain’t something that we’ve spent any time on as there’s never been any markets available with the usual bookmaking suspects that we like to take on.
