WEEKEND: EARLY PICK

MY new feature got off to a flier last week with Nottingham Forest beating Watford.

They were 4-5 when I flagged them up and much lower with some firms at kick-off.

This weekend's selection is being posted a bit later because of the busy internationals card but hopefully it will give you a head start.

At first glance at the weekend coupon there are some gems such as Liverpool at home to Wigan, Hull at home to Preston and Huddersfield at home to Oldham.

But I've decided to back a team odds against and go right down to the Scottish Second Division for this week's pick.

Forfar are a biggest 8-5 to win at Alloa and that looks cracking value.

Poor Alloa have managed to play games on their artificial surface during the big freeze that felt as long up north as Christina Aguilera singing the USA national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately for the Wasps they've lost most of them and their promotion hopes are on ice. Forfar, meanwhile, face a massive backlog but could push for the title playing catch-up.

Since November 20 Forfar have played just three games, winning two and drawing one. Alloa, on the other hand, have been in action nine times – but have lost their last five.

Eleven goals have been conceded in their last three including seven to lowly Dumbarton home and away. Forfar must fancy their chances at Recreation Park so get on bodog's 8-5.
