Arsenal moved to within two points of Liverpool ahead of their meeting at the Emirates on Sunday but the Reds have the chance to re-establish a five point gap with a win over Chelsea tonight.
It finally looks like Mauricio Pochettino has Chelsea heading in the right direction but wins over Palace, Luton, Preston, Middlesbrough and Fulham shouldn’t have fans or punters getting carried away just yet.
Draws at Stamford Bridge against Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City this season suggest better things to come under Pochettino but 10 of their 13 points on the road have come against teams in the bottom half. The exception being that freaky 4-1 win over 9-man Tottenham.
Liverpool have been unfazed by the absence of Mo Salah and a host of others in January and there’s certainly been no lack of goals. The Reds have hit 18 in six since the turn of the year, progressing in the EFL Cup and FA Cup as well as maintaining their lead at the top of the table.
Of course Chelsea can cause most teams problems but they don’t appear to be of the level to go to somewhere like Anfield and get a result so the Reds at 7/10 look a sound first leg of a Premier League double.
Pairing them with Tottenham to beat Brentford makes for a double that pays just over 6/4.
Ange Postecoglou’s men suffered a late defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup last time out but have shown signs of being over a bit of a blip.
They’re still without influential captain Son Heung-min but should be able to count on some good form in the league at home lately where they’ve won 4-1 v Wolves, 2-1 v Everton and 3-1 v Bournemouth.
Brentford ended a run of five defeats in the league with a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest but they’ve not won away from home since October.

Unusual location but Sapling Cup game in Hong Kong at midday looks helluva 1 sided. Southern District have faced off against Hong Kong U23’s 8 times since October 2021,they’ve won 7 & drawn the other. However they’ve conceded in 6 of those 8 meetings and this selection would have landed in 5 of the 7 victories, coupled with Southern having conceded in 13 of theor last 15 outings
Southern District win & BTTS 2/1
Alternatively Hong Kong U23’s are 11/8 too score, they’ve scored in 7 of their last 9 games including 1 against today’s opponents on Jan 17th
Hong Kong U23’s too score 11/8
No joy with my bets at Livi last night LOSERS

Women’s Champions League
Benfica women to score 7-2. HILLS………
(They have BTTS at 11-4 which obviously is lower than above)
Huge price and reflects the gulf in class as far as the result goes.
Both have qualified so it’s a dead rubber
Last year they met here in an almost identical scenario only that then Bayern Munich had already qualified with Barcelona and this season Frankfurt failed to match Bayern’s effort and have finished 3rd behind benfica and Bayern.
In last year’s corresponding fixture Barcelona won here 6-2 (after a 9-0 demolition at home to benfica) and benfica missed 2 penalties in that game and shows when the jobs done Barca’s women might let their hair down a bit (should be let their guard down bit it’s women innit).
Reverse fixture this season ended 5-0 to Barca and that could well be repeated but at odds of 7-2 it’s worth an interest at the price in the hope benfica can penetrate the Barcelona women’s rearguard (that doesn’t sound right does it 🤣)
Barcelona only conceded 1 goal in 5 games and it was away to Frankfurt in a 3-1 win.
Benfica drew in Frankfurt 1-1 and beat Frankfurt 1-0 at home which are commendable efforts.
Prediction 1-5 🛐
Manchester City to win 1/12.
Get on it like a car bonnet.
Red card for Osasuna 33/10 👍👍👍
Great spot on
Need some Man City corners. Why is it when I bet on something, the previous stats go out the window. It’s like they know 😏
16/5 BB up by HT but PP 5fold needing 2 late goals at Shef Wed, at least free bet back though
OMG.
benfica women to score 7-2 won 🇵🇹
They scored 4 FFS 🤣 in a 4-4 draw.
God knows what price that was.
The draw was 12-1 and benfica were 40-1 to win and only a 96th minute Lucy bronze equaliser prevented that outcome.
Strange old game innit 🤔
