The managerial merry-go-round is in full spin after a weekend of departures in the Premier League.
Two managerless teams are in action tonight as Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge after the Blues' board brought Graham Potter's ill-fated tenure to an end and at the King Power Stadium Leicester City, minus Brendan Rodgers, host Aston Villa.
Potter lasted just 31 matches in the job and is temporarily replaced by Bruno Saltor for tonight's match which features two sides who desperately need a win to boost morale.
Liverpool were soundly beaten at the Etihad at the weekend after taking the lead, a third defeat in a row following their 7-0 win over Manchester United and a ninth league defeat of the season – just one fewer than tonight's opponents. But Jurgen Klopp still has the personnel to beat the best on their day.
The fact that Chelsea have disposed of two managers this season tells it's own story. Only 10 league victories in 28, and all of those have come against bottom-half opposition, doesn't inspire for a home win tonight at 7/5.
Of course we don't know how the Blues will respond to a new voice in the dressing room but Liverpool look the value bet to end their losing streak at 19/10.
The alarm bells must be ringing for Leicester City fans who have seen their team slip down the table to second bottom. They've not been in the top half all season and the board must be hoping that a change in the managerial hotseat can shock the players in to some kind of form before it's too late.
When Rodgers joined the club it was in a healthy position and under his guidance they added a first FA Cup triumph to their honours list but now it looks like a club in decline and might struggle to attract a top-level manager that can turn things around.
In the immediate term a win over Aston Villa tonight would give them some breathing but there's little to justify them being favourites against one of the form teams in the Premier League.
Aston Villa were excellent in their win at Stamford Bridge and after nine wins in his 15 games in charge you can now see Unai Emery stamping his own personality on the Villa set-up. Only Arsenal and Manchester City have won more points than Villa since Emery's arrival and they look good value at 9/5 this evening.
Leeds United's matches have seen plenty of goals lately and while they should make it three home wins from three for Javier Gracia against Nottingham Forest Over 2.5 Goals could be a play at even money. Their last three matches have averaged five goals apiece with seven scored and eight conceded. Play it a bit safer by backing Over 1.5 Goals at Elland Road and double it up with a win for Stirling Albion in Scottish League Two.
The Binos have opened up a five point gap at the top and a win in tonight's game in hand would take them a massive step closer to the title. A 3-0 win against tonight's opponents Elgin City on Saturday suggests another three points will remain at the Forthbank Stadium this evening.

Olympiakos v PAOK Salonika (Wednesday)
PAOK DNB @3.25
PAOK double chance @1.90
PAOK win @4.75
All with Bet365
It’s the third game for the Championship play-offs: Olympiakos is 3rd, 3 points behind the first two, and PAOK is 4th, 3 points behind Olympiakos. Olympiakos are still the favourites, but I think those odds are way too high and are definitely worth a few quids.
PAOK lost at home to AEK on Sunday 1-0 and even though AEK was the better team, PAOK had chances to get at least the draw. Olympiakos was cruising at home against Aris until the 70th minute being 2-0 up, when a horrendous defensive mistake made it 2-1 for Aris. They conceded another one 10 minutes later for a 2-2 draw.
The fans booed the manager and the players after the game and the ultras posted a “Go Home” tweet for the manager. Yesterday, their manager (the 3rd for the season) submitted his resignation and it was accepted (or that’s apolite a way to announce that he’s been sacked). The interim manager will be the current Director of Football, who was the Academy Director at the beginning of the season. Olympiakos will also be missing their first choice winger (Sergi Canos – on loan from Brentford) and CB that both got injured on Sunday.
PAOK won the away game earlier this season 2-1 (the game in Salonika ended 0-0 in February) and they have 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses in their last 6 games in Piraeus. The last 8 games between the teams have seen 5 draws, so a draw @3.20 (Betfair) could appeal as well.
As I said, Olympiakos are still the favourites as they play at home but it wouldn’t be surprising at all for PAOK to get a result and those odds are not indicative of the differences between the teams.
Update: by the time I finished writing this, the odds dropped to 4.50 for a PAOK win and 3.25 for DNB.
Hope poor old Harry kane is alright after that haymaker he kopped last night 🥊😄.
Gary Neville says his fall was understandable, Jamie carragher called it embarrassing.
I’m with carragher, doucore was getting a red for raising his hand anyway, kane has tarnished his reputation with his frank Bruno style collapse to the ground.
Was an entertaining last 20 minutes though wasn’t it.

I did a bet on the Everton game with Hills build your odds , each team over 1 card. It was settled as a loser . They count a red as 25 points on the bookings market but must regard it as 1 card on the BYO . Just letting you all know in case you do this type of bet .
No offence Cocker, but its obvious 1 red is counted as 1 card.
Hi Cocker,
I was caught out with this one as well, a couple of weeks ago.
I now scroll own to the total booking points on the BYO, and
put 19.5 + booking points, odds tend to be slightly less, but a
bit of a safety net in such circumstances.
Sorry 19.5 booking points for each team!
Cheers williegee , lesson learnt
Hey Cocker, Your best bet would be to do those bets with 365 on the BetBuilders, they count a Red as 2 Cards and this would have been a winner but the likes of Hills + Paddy’s only count it as one card if it is a straight red. Alternatively as mentioned, go with 20+ Booking points each team which is regularly offered by SkyBet.
Cheers Kyle . I thought Hills counted it as 2 cards as well mate .
No joy last night a goal short, Pickford in the refs face and he still didn’t get booked i’ll be on him again Sat for sure.
Putting their skills aside, Pickford & Kane behave like a couple of clowns and are shocking role models for our kids.
There’s a lot going on in football especially the Premier league, Kane and Pickford like you say, then you have Man Utd starting games and wasting time they did this at Liverpool and at Newcastle and it’s not the mentality of big clubs, needs to be stamped out it’s embarrassing.
Better not take the kids to the ice hockey !
Winning bet yesterday with Sassuolo dbl chance+ u/3.5 goals. Today off to South Africa and Germany, Bayern win v Freiburg, Mamelodi Sundowns win v Cape Town City. Bet pays 4/7.
Cmon the Mongoose.

Chelsea v Liverpool
Liverpool to at 21/10 (NAP)
Potters mate is in charge and he’s never picked a team in a youth set up never mind the prem league, not sure how he’s going to get his message across to the players who must be looking at themselves and thinking wtf, whilst it’s chaos i’m hoping for a reaction from Liverpool tonight as every result went their way in the last round of fixtures.
Best of luck
Van Djik and Salah on bench so scrapping this bet.
Bournemouth v Brighton
Not the most glamourous game of the night but a very important game for both teams .Bournemouth dont score a lot of goals but they have hit the net in 7 of their last 8 home games while Brighton have scored in all but 1 away game. Cards wise Bournemouth have received at least 1 yellow in all their home games and Brighton the same in 10 from 12 away games’
Btts
Both teams to receive a card.
