After a couple of weeks break the Premier League is back and there's a busy night of football across England to look forward to.
The cloud over Goodison Park was lifted at the weekend when Frank Lampard claimed a resounding win in his first match in charge of Everton. Now he takes his Toffees side to the north east to face Newcastle who need to start picking up points fast.
The Toon Army would be forgiven for being a little underwhelmed with their transfer activity so far. Rome wasn't built in a day but their need is great and with a seemingly blank cheque book many expected them to make a bigger splash in the January transfer window.
Just four points separate the two sides and tonight will be big indicator as to how the rest of the season might pan out for each club. The bookies don't have much between them with the Magpies at 8/5 and their visitors at 7/4.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (8/5 to score anytime) could return for Everton and new arrivals, Dele Alli, Anwar El Ghazi and Donny van de Beek should all be available for selection. That adds a bit more firepower to Lampard's line-up and there could be goals at St James' Park tonight. BTTS is 7/10 but Over 2.5 Goals is a more appealing 10/11.
After an FA Cup exit at the hands of Championship side Middlesbrough, Man Utd will be desperate to get to back to winning ways at Burnley. The Red Devils have only won half of their 22 Premier League matches but still sit fourth in the table and look locked in a five-way battle to stay in that Champions League qualification position.
United have a good record at Turf Moor, winning without conceding on their last five visits, and are 13/8 to do so again.
Burnley fans will be desperate to see if new arrival Wout Weghorst can fire them to safety. The Dutchman arrives with a one-in-two scoring record at Wolfsburg and is 11/5 (Bet365) to mark his debut with a goal.
Fulham are the only top six side in action in the Championship so have the chance to extend their lead at the summit. They host Millwall and should be good enough to get the three points that'll move them eight points clear of second placed Blackburn.
As has been well documented they've been rattling in the goals, scoring a massive 29 more goals than any other side in the division. The 4/11 on the Cottagers to win can be boosted to 8/13 if you take them to also score two or more.
In League Two Forest Green enjoy a ten point lead at the top of the table. They're unbeaten in league action in almost four months, a run extending to 17 games. Therefore they should be a solid enough bet at home to Rochdale at 7/10.

Burnley v Man Utd
Both sides come in to this game and neither team can afford to lose,Burnley because they are in a relegation fight and Man Utd because they are going to need every point they can muster as they have a tough run of fixtures coming up and the top four is going to go down to the wire.Fully expect a heated game here which should bring in the cards and i would also expect the visitors to win.
Everton head to Newcastle with the New manager bounce, they put four past Brentford in the f.a cup so look to have their shooting boots back on,Lampard plays attacking football which is what the bitters like to see and i’m willing to take goals on here before the inevitable happens and they dry up again.
Watford go to West Ham under new manager Roy Hodgson and he’s there to do one job and that’s keep Watford from getting relegated,Watford picked up a point away to Burnley drawing 0-0 not a pretty game by any means but a point none the less.Tonight will be more difficult but expect Watford to be difficult to beat and worth a dabble at 11/8 not to lose.
Best of luck

Gillingham v Cambridge Utd
Summary
The gills have been in turmoil, Evans sacked after the Ipswich mauling, Lovell overseeing the Oxford mauling, and now Harris stepping in to the hot seat! Nonetheless throughout this turbulent period the team have been returning healthy stats on home soil in regards to corners. 6,7,7,8 ! Prior to this, they haven’t been setting the stats alight but they have been consistent averaging around 5 against opponents throughout the full range of positions in the league. Corner stats for teams sitting in the mid table bracket ( Cambridge occupy ) 6-2,5-4,6-2 most recent!
Their opponents Cambridge are sitting comfortably mid table at present. Their last 3 away fixtures has seen them concede 8,8,8 against a top, mid table and a basement team, they’ve as contributed to the corner tally hitting 5,5,2. You need to track back to see how they’ve faired against basement teams on their travels 8-5,8-1,5-4,7-3,4-5,3-9.
I’m predicting an open affair ( maybe not goals ) and I’m backing the Gills to take the game to Cambridge which hopefully will relate to a decent corner return, with Cambridge contributing.
GILLINGHAM over 4 team corners 4/5
GILLINGHAM over 5 team corners 8/5
GILLINGHAM over 9 match corners 4/5
GILLINGHAM over 10 match corners 13/10.

Newcastle v Everton
Jonjo Shelvey 1 + shot on target NAP 11/10
Newcastle 6 + corners NB 11/10
St James’ Park will be electric tonight with their first glimpse of the new arrivals, Bruno Guimaraes being the standout, I expect Shelvey to be pushed further upfield with the former sitting deep.
Lampard looks like he will have us playing more from the back, therefore I also fancy a few corners for the Toon pressing high up with the atmosphere of the crowd
Both prices Skybet. Good luck 👍🏻

Happy retirement to Moussa Dembele, only 34….one of those guys that it was near impossible to get the ball from once it landed at his feet….great to watch and for me he’s up there with Ginola, Gazza and Hoddle as players that got fans on their feet at White Hart Lane
Probably the most underrated player in premier league history (biased view). The way he glided and turned players with the ball was zidane’esque.
totally agree with 34 being seriously young for retirement in fitness related sports nowadays, ive no doubt he will still be competing at some sort of level…albeit not to the same standards as he was used to.

LINCOLN v MORECAMBE
Summary
Morecambe on their travels usually produces corners at both ends, recent stats of 11-3,12-4,7-3, looking deeper into their corner conceded stats the following prevails 5,11,9,6,5,8,9,6,6…and they’ve contributed well ( except 1 solitary corner at Sunderland ). This evening they travel to Lincolnshire…it’s difficult to make a solid case for Lincoln , inconsistency is clearly evident, but here goes, in their last two home they’ve hit 10 and 8 respectively ! Further down the line they’ve edged the low corner count by 2 against two very difficult opponents ( both very good footballing sides Mk and Oxford ) . One more ‘stat’ that hit me was the corner stats between sides they’ve played twice ! Mk dons 5-3 and reverse fixture 6-4. Burton 10-5 and reverse fixture 13-1. Plymouth 6-3 and reverse fixture 4-6. Cambridge 8-1 and reverse fixture 10-1. Extremely close corner counts…crazy stat, right? Well it’s a stat I can’t ignore, Morecambe 7 v 11 Lincoln in the first encounter !

Just looked at the West ham line up and Kurt zouma started the game.
Who in their right mind can seriously say that is morally correct given that idiots online video of him kicking his kitten about, while filming it and giggling with his brother.
Football really is morally bankrupt for me.
The fact that he cost a few million quid is the only reason he is still in the squad, if he was a fringe player or one who is not a financial asset I wager he wouldn’t have started and Iikely would have kicked out of the club
Disappointed with moyes as well, thought he would have at least dropped and fined him and apologized for the stain on the club’s image
No difference between this and child abuse or does it not matter because it’s just a cat !!!
Am I alone with my thoughts on this, not happy ❌
No, agree.
Shocked to see him start. Coward zouma is
If you ever look at criminal behaviour, most psychopaths start out harming animals.
I was amazed Zouma was allowed to play – especially in light of the recent Greenwood case.
This will not end well for the club – and nor should it.
Appalled to see Moyes starting Zouma after his shocking behaviour. Should be booted out of the club, by playing him West Ham are effectively backing him and condoning his behaviour. Hope any club sponsors pull the rug and distance themselves from a club who clearly think animal cruelty is ok?
