Tuesday’s Football Tips: Slick Spain favourites to sink misfiring French in Euro 2024 semis

WE'RE down to the last four at Euro 2024 and tonight's semi-final between Spain and France has pitted total football against total boredom.

I had a punt on the French to win the tournament at 4/1 before a ball was kicked but I'm amazed my bet is still alive given how poor Les Bleus have been.

They're scored just three goals at Euro 2024 and two of those have been OGs with the other coming from the spot.

Spain, in stark contrast, have blazed a trail to the semi-finals, with Luis de la Fuente's vibrant young side scoring for fun.

The Spanish have netted 11 goals so far and the last of those strikes came at the death in extra time as they dumped holders Germany out.

After that huge win in the quarter-final, Betfred make Spain 8/11 favourites to reach the final but France have been grinding out the wins so lots of punters will be backing them at evens in the same market.

Spain v France Top Betting Tips

It's hard to know what to expect from this match given Spain have been scoring freely but France have conceded just once in the entire tournament.

The half-time draw came up in three of the four quarter-finals so that bet appeals again but the odds aren't great at 5/6.

Plenty of people won't fancy a punt on BTTS given France's poor form in front of goal but Spain have conceded in both knockout ties and Didier Deschamps has so many quality forwards that they need to find form at some point. So the 11/10 on offer for both teams to score actually looks pretty decent.

Stats bets are probably a safer option and Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz is 11/8 for one or more shots on target. That looks good value given he has two goals to his name already and has taken plenty of digs at goal in most of the games.

I also like the 4/1 available for Jules Kounde to pick up a card as the French defender is likely to be up against one of the speedy Spanish wingers.

Argentina v Canada Top Tips

It's also semi-final time at the Copa America and holders Argentina are now heavy favourites to retain their crown with Brazil having been knocked out by Uruguay.

The world champions face Canada in the early hours of Wednesday morning and it's a repeat of the tournament's opening game, which ended in a 2-0 win for the Argentines.

At that point you would have got huge odds on the Canadians reaching the last four but they finished runners-up in Group A then edged out Venezuela in the quarter-finals on penalties.

Argentina also needed spot-kicks to get past Ecuador but they're 1/3 hot favourites with Betfred to finish Canada off inside 90 minutes here.

Lautaro Martinez has four goals to his name at this Copa America so the Inter Milan star looks decent value at 11/8 for another strike in the semi.

We saw 11 corners when these sides faced off in the group stage so over 10.5 flag kicks stands a chance at 10/11.

Canada full-back Alistair Johnston was booked in their draw with Chile and often gets riled up for big games. The Celtic defender is 100/30 at SkyBet to go in the book.
