It’s rare we get a day without football in Europe at this stage of the season but the cupboard is almost bare for punters today save for a Coupe de France match in Rouen.
That’s not one we’ll be getting involved in so it gives a chance to look ahead to weekend early.
It could be a matter of how many for Manchester City and Liverpool against Everton and Burnley respectively. Goals bets will the order of the day.
It was raining goals in the top flight last weekend. All but one match saw over 3.5 Goals across the 10 fixtures as a total of 43 goals were scored.
There’s seven matches on Saturday and for all over them to see four or more pays a huge 513/1. Over 2.5 pays a more modest 22/1.
Leeds Utd, Southampton and Ipswich Town are all at home so that treble could be popular but the latter will have a tough afternoon against West Brom.
Keep an eye out for Newport in League Two. They’re unbeaten in six and gave a good account of themselves in the cup against Manchester United. They’re 3/1 to win at Walsall who are 2 places below them in the table.
Its Scottish Cup fifth round weekend and there’s a few clubs aiming to cause an upset. On the shortlist are in-form Morton at home to Motherwell at 16/5, Partick Thistle at 21/10, who host a Livingston side that can’t buy a win and a resurgent St Mirren who are a massive 9/1 to KO a fragile Celtic side.
In the SPFL Callum Davidson’s Queen’s Park (21/10) look overpriced at Dunfermline who are in a poor run of form whilst League Two’s runaway league leaders Stenhousemuir look a fair price to win at East Fife at 10/11.
