WHAT a day we have in store, some cracking matches at home and on the continent. I’ll be focusing on two massive games in the Betfred Cup semis up where four of our biggest clubs meet.
Aberdeen v Rangers (4.30pm)
You have to say Steven Gerrard has done a terrific job since he took over at Ibrox, they look destined to progress passed the Europa League group stages which is a fabulous achievement and now have a cup semi-final to look forward to.
At home they have been terrific but have struggled to replicate that form on the road. The big wide pitch of Hampden will definitely suit them though.
Aberdeen have had somewhat of a disappointing start to the season. After finishing second the last few seasons they find themselves languishing in eighth place well off the pace. Dons boss Derek McInnes talks a lot about performances but needs a result more than a performance.
As we know there is no love lost between these two sides and it should be a bruising encounter but for me the momentum is with Rangers. They are full of confidence and will be backed by 30,000 fans, more than double of what Aberdeen will have.
Aberdeen are still a dangerous side and will cause Rangers, especially Gary Mackay-Steven but they have been toothless up front this season and that will be their downfall here today as Rangers run out winners.

Hearts v Celtic (1.30pm)
What a match this should be – as 67,000 fans descend upon the home of rugby at Murrayfield.
I think we’ll see goals and Celtic will win but the booking markets look appealing
Step forward Hearts pair Peter Haring and Steven Naismith. It’s no surprises to see Haring leading the way in the player to be carded market and he’ll have a job on his hands trying to contain that Celtic attack.
The big Austrian has been a terrific find for Hearts but I’m taking him to receive a card.
Next up is another terrific summer acquisition in Steven Naismith. He has been outstanding and is the league's top scorer.
He does suffer from little-man syndrome though and being an ex-Rangers player there will be no love lost today.
He’s already been booked five times this season which is ridiculous for a striker. He struggles to contain his emotions in these big games and looks a great shout to receive another card today

Naismith (Hearts) to be carded (9-4, bet365)
Man United v Everton (4pm)
Nothing flash here – United need a result, they are at home and you’d like to think some of their players may actually turn up and put in a performance. If they do they will be too good for Everton.
A very reasonable price for United today and I’m happy to take it and see them collect three points.

Don’t forgot the MLS games later.
