ON Wednesday I put up a Saturday Super Singles shortlist and asked for comments on my picks.
Coventry were quickly shot down by a Sky Blues fan and that was a good call as they drew at Hartlepool without a couple of key men.
Notts County were another about whom questions were asked but they managed to beat Gillingham and notch their first win of the season under new boss Shaun Derry.
In the end five of the 10 on the shortlist were triumphant – Liverpool -1, Derby, Notts County, Dundee Utd -1 and Livingston. And of course it was Livi I went for and they dramatically won with two goals in the last five minutes at Cowdenbeath.
Out of the other five put up four drew and the only loser was Brentford and I'd have knocked them off anyway after losing boss Uwe Rosler to Wigan on the eve of their FA Cup clash at Carlisle.
So it was interesting exercise and one I plan to continue at weekends.
I'll put up Sunday's top tips in the morning but on the shortlist are Lille at Bordeaux, Wolfsburg at Freiburg, Aston Villa at Fulham, Chievo at Sassuolo and Bastia v Lyon.
The Super Single might come from one of those or something else that catches my eye in the morning.

I don’t normally post on here but surely Fiorentina at 16/5 paddy power (what I use might be better else where) to beat Roma is great odds? Drawn there last 4 against nobody’s and only just! Fiorentina will be a different class?!?! What do you think?
How about hertha berlin, they play bottom of table Braunschweig who have collected 3 points out of 18 that’s 1 win and 5 losses a very respectable 11/10 with ladbrokes.

Fulham didn’t play that badly against Spurs. Should have got a point if not for Hugo Lloris making some big saves. If anyone looked at their next few fixtures, this is really the MUST WIN GAME and their most realistic chance of getting a win in Dec. They are not going to beat Everton away or Man City at home. They are never good travellers so I can’t see them getting a win at Norwich or Hull too.
Aston Villa recent form is decent or even good for club like them, 2 wins and 3 draws in the last 5 games. They have put in great effort in the comeback draw against WBA and the win against high-flying Southampton. I doubt they can repeat the same effort for 3 times in a row.
I agreee VO7, not confident with Villa. But if Mr f picks them ill be on it draw no bet as per usual!
