The final chapter of this season’s EFL Cup will be written at Wembley this afternoon but will it turn out to be first leg of a trophy-laden exit from English football by Jurgen Klopp or the introduction of a successful era for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino?
A piece of silverware would go a long way to convincing fans and his board that the Argentine is the right man to take Chelsea forward after a challenging first season so far.
But the bookies make Liverpool favourites at a generous 23/20 to win inside the 90 minutes. The Blues are 9/4 to win and 6/5 to win the trophy.
The Reds are chasing success on four fronts and have shown no signs of letting up despite a mounting injury list. Klopp’s imminent departure appears to have added even more incentive to end the season with bang.
The German has lost just once against Pochettino’s teams and Liverpool thumped Chelsea 4-1 when the sides met less than a month ago.
The Blues have come up short too often against the better teams this season so everything points to Liverpool adding to their haul of nine EFL Cup successes at 23/20.
The pressure is well and truly on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership following Rangers’ 5-0 mauling of Hearts yesterday, which took them five points clear of the champions.
The Hoops are at Motherwell this lunchtime and only a win will do. Performances haven’t been great lately but Brendan Rodgers’ men are unbeaten in 10 (W8 D2) and they’ll likely grind out a win a Fir Park today.
The return of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston should shore things up at the back but it’s at the other end where Celtic need to sharpen up.
Rodgers will be expecting his team to come out the traps quickly, something they’ve done in three of their last four away games, scoring inside 15 minutes in each of them. An early goal today, inside 24:00 minutes pays 5/6 at Bet365.

As always, post your betting tips for today in the comments section below.
Motherwell v Celtic 12:00
3+ Motherwell corners and 20+ Motherwell booking points 11/8 Sky
This combo has landed in five of six previous H2Hs at Fir Park. Motherwell have received mtuple bookings in last nine league games and managed three or more corners in their last 12 in the league.
Celtic have conceded at least three corners in four of last five league games. GL.
A booking shy. Loser ❌
AC Milan v Atalanta
Atalantas Dutch midfielder Marten De Room has collected 8 yellows in 22 Seria A matches this season, however he has collected 7 of those yellows in 10 away days.
Theo Hernandez is Milan’s main sinner having collected 8 yellows in 22 Seria A matches
There’s been a red card shown in the last 2 H2H meetings
Marten De Roon to be carded 15/8 Hills
Theo Hernandez & Marten de Roon Both To Be Carded 7/1
Red card in the match 7/2 Bet365
Gone for it wee Joe 🤞 Nice one!
Had a little luck with these bets lately going for couple bookings in tight games and would have chosen these 2 also!
For anyone with betmgm or betuk accounts you can get 9/1 on the double.
BOL
Just need the theo card 🤞👏
Had vestergard and ampadu in the Leicester game on fri at 10/1, debating who I should pick from the Liverpool Chelsea game later, endo (7 in 18) prob with between Jackson (9 in 22) and palmer/caicedo (both 7 in 22).
Maybe singles and a double with endo and the others, like caicedo tbf but Jackson numbers are good and he’s a little calamitous 😂 ok more than a little!
Caicedo would be my choice there, never shirks a tackle and has no time for niceties even when already carded. Callum Slattery of Motherwell in the noon game in Scotland plays the same way and would be my pick in that game
Best of luck 👍
Cypriot league has split into Championship and Relegation rounds, today’s the first round of fixtures and all 3 games look good for goals. Punt on all 3 games seeing both sides contribute
Cyprus Division 1 Championship round
Anorthosis v Apoel Nicosia BTTS 10/11
Aris Limassol v Omonia Nicosia BTTS 4/5
Pafos v AEK Larnaca BTTS 17/20
21/4 treble
Best of luck all 👍
Both picks landed comfortably in the first half of their games yesterday. Nice to get off the mark with a win but a bit nervous about how I handle the losses on here. Today:
Hurling – League 1
Cork vs Waterford
Over 1.5 Cork goals 5/6
It might be early in the season but Cork are already under pressure to get a win today. Pat Ryan has picked a really strong team and I expect them to go for this one. They scored 2+ goals in the last two games and against Kilkenny they could have scored many more. Cork are erratic and Waterford will be much closer here than the bookies suggest. A lot of rain has fallen over night, the pitch in Cork can handle it but expect a tight contest.
Hurling – League 1
Wexford vs Clare
Over 1.5 Clare goals 4/5
Which Wexford will turn up today is the question. Two very different performances so far in the league. Clare have been typically solid and have named a dangerous starting 6 forwards. Clare won’t be bothered with the heavy pitch in Wexford park today and their forwards have too much pace for some leggy Wexford defenders.
Both can be found on Paddypower or Boyles sports.
Good luck mate for today and thanks for yesterdays. Had a nice win double
Cork over 1.5 goals can be had at 11/10 with bet 365, for those interested!
Sorry guys! No luck in either – especially the cork game, they had the chances!
Motherwell v Celtic
20 + booking points each team 13/8
50 + booking points in the match 7/4
Skybet
Could get feisty
Celtic need to really show up today and should have enough to beat motherwell comfortably so win and over 2.5 mgs is my call. Prediction 0-3.
Wolves on a great run under a very underrated manager in Gary O’Neil and should sweep against a very poor Sheffield utd, minus a goal wolves is my pick here. Prediction 3-0.
Double pays 29/10
Correct score double 88/1 for a very longshot
Chelsea v Liverpool is one of those games that has BTTS and draw all over it: probably 1:1, possibly 2:2 or maybe higher. (after extra time).
I know Liverpool smashed them recently but If I were a Chelsea player and saw Liverpool’s injury list, I’d be thinking this is there for the taking.
That said any BetBuilder today that includes a win is probably best done on Bet365, because either of these sides could blow a 2:0 lead (and if they do the early pay out on 2:0, it’s all good).
So here’s my long and longer shot BetBuilder.
Obviously, have no idea which strikers maybe fit for Liverpool so really would be better waiting for teams. However…

Is he fit then macca ??
I think he is I also think Nunez is, I think Klopp rested them both against Luton with this game in mind. Salah would play today with a broken leg imo
Wasn’t seen walking around the pitch so maybe out

Three of last four H2Hs in Italy have seen BTTS – including a 2-1 win for Atalanta at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia last month – and all of last four have seen 40 or more booking points. Milan have scored in their last 21 games. Atlanta have won eight of their last nine.
Eight of last nine H2Hs in France have seen BTTS and at least 30+ booking points have landed in all of last four H2Hs. GL
