Following Saturday’s fixtures featuring last season’s big three, Sunday’s programme includes no fewer than five matches, which promise just as much entertainment and betting opportunities.
The focus, of course, will be on the matches involving Monaco, Rennes and Lyon, who are locked in a battle for the top spot. None of them can afford to slip up, especially with PSG closing in.

Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions
Angers vs. Marseille (2pm)
Marseille fans haven’t had a moment’s peace this season, as their favourites have been unable to win two matches in a row. Angers fans are probably more used to this sort of performance, but they’ll now be hoping for a win against a Marseille side in crisis.
Historically, the points from this fixture have usually gone to the visitors, often by a huge margin. The same fixture a year ago ended in a 5-2 win for Marseille.
And given their lack of defensive solidity this year, I reckon we could well see plenty of goals in this match again.
Angers vs. Marseille top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals
Le Havre vs. Auxerre (4:15pm)
Le Havre and Auxerre are two of the teams fighting for survival this season. The home side are the only team yet to win a match, whilst Auxerre have the weakest defence.
Interestingly, Le Havre have won 12 of their last 19 matches against Auxerre (D5, L2), and matches between the two sides usually feature plenty of goals.
For example, seven of the last eight H2Hs have seen both teams score. Given the desperate need for wins, we can expect plenty of action here.

Paris FC vs. Rennes (4:15pm)
Paris FC have finally suffered their first defeat, but their home form will certainly spur them on to bounce back straight away, even though Rennes are, on paper, a cut above.
The Red and Blacks are just one point behind the leaders and boast the best attack so far this season. They’ve scored an average of two goals per match so far.
Interestingly, Paris FC are the side with the strongest defence and have conceded just one goal in three home matches so far. In my view, this match will be surprisingly difficult for Rennes and we can even expect a draw.
Paris FC vs. Rennes top betting tip: Draw
Lorient vs. Monaco (4:15pm)
Will Lorient once again prove to be a thorn in Monaco’s side, having beaten them twice 3–1 last season?
The Monegasques are still unbeaten in all competitions this season and are deservedly top of the table. They have some defensive frailties and concede goals, which leads me to believe we can expect another high-scoring clash with Lorient.
Eight of the last 10 matches between the two sides have featured at least four goals. Both teams scored in each of those eight matches.
Lorient vs. Monaco top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals
Lyon vs. Nice (7:45pm)
Nice seem to be heading in the right direction following their two consecutive wins against Strasbourg and Lille, but the big question remains as to how they will perform away from home.
Their last away win in Ligue 1 was back in March, and Lyon are a completely different challenge when playing at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
The Kids are three points off the top and cannot afford any slip-ups at home. Given their solid defence and attacking prowess, I’m going to back them at 7/10.
