We’re definitely in for some exciting moments on Sunday, given the important fixtures coming up in La Liga.

Mallorca will try to take a big step toward avoiding relegation when they host Villarreal, who have already secured a spot in the top four. Athletic Bilbao and Getafe have crucial matches on their path to Europe, while the highlight of the day is El Clasico, which could decide the title.

Below, you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for each of Sunday’s La Liga matches.

Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions

Mallorca vs. Villarreal (1pm)

Mallorca are in an ideal position to avoid relegation and have certainly been impressive in front of their home crowd. Villarreal are in great form, but they’ve already secured their place in the Champions League and may take their foot off the gas.

Still, they need to hold onto third place, so we expect them to come out eager to win. Interestingly, Mallorca and Villarreal are two of the teams with the most high-scoring matches this season, so we have plenty of reasons to expect goals.

Eight of Mallorca’s last 10 home games have featured at least three goals. In 8 out of 10 of those matches, both teams scored.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Valencia (3:15pm)

La Liga is so competitive that with four rounds remaining, Valencia could mathematically still be relegated or qualify for Europe. Athletic Bilbao are in a much better position, level on points with the seventh-placed team.

Both teams have been inconsistent, and it’s hard to predict what they’ll do in a match like this. They recently faced off in the Copa del Rey, where Bilbao won 2-1.

We expect something similar here, mainly due to Valencia’s poor form on the road. Lately, they’ve lost to several teams at the bottom of the table, and Athletic Bilbao is a far more dangerous opponent.

Real Oviedo vs. Getafe (5:30pm)

Real Oviedo will be confirmed as the first team to be relegated if they fail to win their match against Getafe, who are also in desperate need of a turnaround after suffering back-to-back losses.

The good news is that Getafe often play their best matches on the road, having won four of their last six away games. Their problem all season has been scoring goals, while defensively, they are among the best teams.

We expect a narrow win here, which would allow them to hold onto their seventh-place spot. It’s definitely worth betting on under 2.5 goals, though a Getafe win is already enough of a risk.

Barcelona vs. Real Madrid (8pm)

Barcelona don’t even need to win, as just one point will be enough to clinch the title early. But given their form, a win seems quite possible.

Real Madrid are facing serious issues, both in the locker room and with injuries, and the chaos at the club is likely to affect their performance.

Barcelona have won every single home game this season, with two more to go for a perfect home campaign. We expect them to continue their streak by defeating Real Madrid for the fourth consecutive time at home.
