ST MIRREN v RANGERS BETTING

CELTIC'S workmanlike win over Hamilton yesterday stretched their SPL lead to eight points – putting the pressure back on Rangers.

My only tip on the game was to back the Bhoys at 10-11 to win to nil and that duly came up against shot-shy Accies.

Rangers head for St Mirren trying to put the disappointment of their Scottish Cup exit to Celtic behind them but are missing the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty and Sasa Papac.

That leaves them short of players up front and looking poor value at 2-5 with William Hill and totesport. David Healy could get a chance to start and is a biggest 9-2 at bet365 to break the deadlock.

The Buddies are battling for their lives and I expect them to put up strong resistance. Saints’ problem is a lack of goals so again Gers could be taken at 6-4 (Ladbrokes) to win to nil. Plus two Saints are 8-11 with Stan James and 8-1 with the likes of Ladbrokes to win.
