SlipsTips shares a double involving two sides who are heavily fancied to collect three points when they begin their Nations League campaigns' on Saturday.
Hungary vs England (Saturday, 17:00)
Hungary and England kick off their Nations League campaign in Budapest on Saturday evening, with both looking to get off to a positive start in Group A3.
I've covered this clash in more detail in a separate match preview but I'm also going to factor this fixture into a 11/10 double with William Hill.
Recent history suggests that this is exactly the type of assignment that England are particularly efficient in dealing with.
Gareth Southgate's side have lost only one of their last 59 matches in qualifying for both the European Championships and World Cup, posting a whopping 47 wins in the process.
With the Three Lions general 4/11 chances with most firms, I'm happy to instead side with the visitors to score at least a couple of goals in the Hungarian capital on Saturday evening.
The star-studded visitors have struck twice or more in seven of their last nine outings – a sequence that includes a -4-0 success at this venue back in September – and their superior attacking quality could prove the difference in this contest yet again.
Turkey vs Faroe Islands (Saturday, 19:45)
Turkey get their Nations League campaign underway in Istanbul on Saturday night with a home match against the Faroe Islands in Group C1.
After a dismal 12 months, the Crescent-Stars have slipped into the third tier of this tournament, while the Faroes' earned promotion after going unbeaten in Group D1 last term.
That being said, the visitors still hold one of international football's worst records and punching above their weight in this pool may prove a step too far.
The Turks will be keen to restore some pride and this fixture could represent an ideal opportunity to gain a much-needed morale boost after a turbulent 2021.
Although Hakan Ericson's minnows are no longer a pushover, they have conceded at least one goal in each of their last 13 meaningful matches, leaking two or more in seven of their last nine.
Turkey, on the other hand, have scored a minimum of one goal in each of their last 10 matches and with all this in mind, I’m more than happy to back the hosts to strike twice here as the second half of an 11/10 wager with William Hill.
