SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Rangers’ clash with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers vs Motherwell (Sunday, 15:00)
Seeking to make it five Scottish Premiership wins on the spin, Rangers welcome Motherwell to Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
The title-chasing Teddy Bears went into the split sitting 2nd in the table after staging an impressive comeback from two goals down to claim a thrilling 6-3 victory over Falkirk last time out.
As for Motherwell, their sticky patch continued with a 3-1 defeat away at Hearts in their most recent outing.
Rangers have been a winning machine at Ibrox under Danny Rohl, and the bookmakers expect that trend to continue on Sunday, with a home victory priced at around 1/2 by most firms.
However, as I often do, I’m going to head into the fouls markets and suggest a selection that looks especially attractive from a value standpoint.
Rangers’ Nicolas Raskin is available at even-money (1/1) to commit at least two fouls on Sunday, and that looks a price worth taking.
The Rangers midfielder’s tenacious displays in the middle of the park often see him on the radar of Scottish Premiership referees.
That is reflected in Raskin’s numbers in the Scottish top-flight this term, with the midfielder averaging 2.07 fouls per game.
The Belgian’s habit of overstepping the mark was on full display against Falkirk last time out, as he was reprimanded on three separate occasions.
A closer look shows the tough-tackling midfielder has committed multiple fouls in 20 of his 31 Scottish Premiership appearances this season.
Now set to come up against a Motherwell team who excel at retaining possession, there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue.
The case for backing this selection is strengthened by the fact Raskin has committed at least two fouls in each of Rangers’ last two meetings with Motherwell this season, racking up a combined total of five infringements across those matches.
