SlipsTips shares two selections from Motherwell's Scottish Premiership clash with Hibernian on Sunday afternoon.

Motherwell vs Hibernian (Sunday, 15:00)

Both Motherwell and Hibernian will be targeting their maiden league wins of the season when the pair face off at Fir Park on Sunday.

After ending last season as one of the league’s form sides, Stuart Kettlewell’s crop kicked off their 2023-24 campaign with a 1-1 draw at newly-promoted Dundee.

Hibernian, on the other hand, saw their two-goal fightback thwarted when losing 3-2 to St Mirren in what was a thrilling curtain-raiser at Easter Road.

Lee Johnson's side bounded back from that opening day setback in style with a 3-1 win over Luzern on Thursday night in Europa qualifying and I suspect another entertaining encounter could be in the offing at Fir Park.

Both these sides will be keen to bank their first three points of the season and the opportunity to support Both Teams To Score at 4/5 (Bet 365) stands out.

As already alluded to, Motherwell ended last season strongly, with the Steelmen securing maximum points from six of their final eight home games of the campaign, scoring in each of those fixtures.

Granted, Well are no longer able to call upon talismanic striker Kevin van Veen, but they have scored in each of their five league and cup outings this season so far and they should be capable of carving out scoring opportunities against a Hibs side that are not exactly renowned for being watertight.

The capital club have failed to keep their sheets clean across their four competitive contests this season so far, conceding seven goals in the process.

That being said, the Hibees have had plenty of success from an attacking standpoint, having racked up a sizable 12 strikes across the same four-game sample.

What’s more, both teams have scored in each of those four fixtures, as was the case in Motherwell’s aforementioned 1-1 draw with Dundee last weekend, so I'm more than happy to support a repeat on Sunday afternoon at 4/5 (Bet 365).

With all things considered, the 21/20 available with BetVictor for this match-up to feature Over 2.5 goals also looks like an attractive betting proposition.

All four of Hibernian's meaningful matches this season have delivered at least three match goals, and even though the season is still in its infancy, the likelihood of a goal-heavy game here appears to have been underrated by the market.

Recommended Bets

  • Both Teams to Score 4/5 (Bet 365)
  • Over 2.5 Goals – 21/20 (BetVictor)

Totally agree here, goals is a must considering how Hibs have been playing so far this year.

They look a threat going forward but some much to question at the back, 1/1 or above is a fair bet for over 2.5 and certainly something I am already playing.
