IT's matchday four in the Scottish Premiership this weekend and I'm going to have a look at two of Saturday's fixtures for the purposes of putting up a cross-match BetBuilder. This weekend's double involves two of the sides who helped land last Saturday's double at 10/11.
Hamilton vs St Mirren (3pm)
Hamilton find themselves bottom of the Scottish Premiership and they will be desperate to get off the mark when they welcome St Mirren to the Fountain of Youth Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Brian Rice's men were thumped 5-1 by Celtic on the opening Sunday of the season before falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Ross County last Saturday.
St Mirren, meanwhile, fell to a 3-0 defeat at Ibrox last weekend but the Buddies will take confidence from their 1-0 win over Livingston a fortnight ago.
Jim Goodwin's side will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend and it's worth noting that the Paisley outfit have avoided defeat in each of their last five meetings with Accies.
Indeed, this fixture has a history of being a low-scoring affair, however, I fancy the Saints to strike against a leaky Hamilton backline that have kept just three clean sheets across their last 18 Scottish top-flight assignments.
With that in mind, I'm going to back what I consider to be a superior St Mirren side to score against Hamilton for the first half of the BetBuilder double.
Hibernian vs Motherwell (5.30pm)
Red-hot Hibs will be looking to maintain their superb start to the season when they meet Motherwell at Easter Road on Saturday evening.
Jack Ross' men have taken maximum points from their opening three fixtures and they will fancy their chances of extending that sequence against Stephen Robinson's out of sorts Motherwell side.
The Steelmen exceeded expectations last term, however, Well have failed to win any of their opening three fixtures and now find themselves with just one win from their last 11 top-flight tussles.
Such shaky form does bode well ahead of a showdown with a Hibs side playing with a high degree of confidence and I fancy the capital club to continue their fine form in front of goal on Saturday evening.
Hibs boss Ross has deadly strike duo Christian Doidge and Kevin Nisbet at his disposal and it's also worth noting that the Easter Road outfit have notched in all but one of their 15 fixtures in 2020.
Therefore, I'm going to combine Hibs to score alongside three or more Hibs corners for the second half of the Bet Builder double to give us a nice looking 19/20 shot with bet365.
Recommended Bet
- St Mirren 1+ Goal
- Hibs 1+ Goal & Hibs 3+ Corners
- BetBuilder Double – 19/20 (Bet 365)
