The first fixture of Matchday 2 in the Bundesliga comes from the OlympiaStadion on Friday night and I'm hoping to follow up on what was a successful opening weekend in Germany.

Hertha Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Friday, 19:30)

Hertha Berlin hit the ground running last weekend and they will be looking for more of the same when they face Eintracht Frankfurt at the OlympiaStadion on Friday night.

The capital club enjoyed a strong end to last season and last Saturday's 4-1 success at Werder Bremen will see the Hertha faithful head into the new campaign full of hope.

Bruno Labbadia's arrival just before last term's enforced break sparked an upturn in the Berliners fortunes and Die Alte Dame appear to have made some shrewd Summer signings.

Frankfurt, meanwhile, played out a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to newly-promoted Arminia Bielefeld last weekend, however, the Eagles have lost only one of their last nine Bundesliga assignments.

Having said that, Adi Hutter's side will be hard tasked when trying to tame Hertha's wealth of attacking talent that includes the likes of Jhon Cordoba, Kryzsztof Piatek and Matheus Cuhna.

Indeed, an outright home success takes appeal at 13/10 with Betfred, however, I'm more attracted to the 30/29 on offer with VBet for Hertha Berlin to score two or more goals on Friday night.

Taking this approach would have banked profit in four of Hertha's last five home matches and after racking up four on the road last time out I'm happy to back Labbadia's side to score two or more goals in this tussle.

It's also worth noting that Frankfurt were turned over in 10 of their 17 road trips last season –  conceding an average of 1.9 goals per-game on their travels – and both Bundelisga bouts between these sides last season featured a collective total of nine strikes.

When digging slightly deeper it can be seen that Frankfurt have recorded just one clean sheet across their last 14 matches in all competitions and that coupled with the fact that the hosts have hit the back of the net in 11 of their last 12 league games only adds to the appeal of siding with the above-mentioned bet.
