Eibar vs Atletico Madrid (Thursday, 20:30)
Atletico Madrid are setting the pace in La Liga and they will be looking to strengthen their position at the summit of the standings when they take on Eibar on Thursday night.
Diego Simeone's side are dreaming of a first title since 2014 after taking maximum points from 13 of their opening 16 Spanish top-flight tussles of the season.
Last time out the capital club strengthened their grip on top spot with a 2-0 win over Sevilla, and they will be presented with the opportunity to extend their lead when they lock horns with Eibar.
Jose Luis Mendilibar's men have won just two of their last 11 La Liga assignments and as a result find themselves perched precariously above the relegation zone.
This is the type of assignment that Atleti have become particularly efficient in dealing with, however, there is not enough value in backing the visitors at a general 4/6 so I will head to Bet 365‘s Bet Builder market to get a bigger price.
If we combine Atletico Madrid to win and under five match goals we will be presented with a 5/6 shot and that price makes appeal.
Simeone's side have been their typically stubborn selves this season – nine of their 13 wins this term have been to nil and they have conceded just six league goals to date.
When digging slightly deeper it can be seen that the Atletico Madrid win and under five match goal combo has clicked in 12/13 Atleti La Liga victories this season.
It's also worth noting that six of Eibar's last seven home matches in La Liga have featured fewer than three match goals, not to mention the hosts are the second-lowest scorers in Spain's top-flight this season
With that in mind, coupled with Atleti's remarkable defensive record this season I'm more than happy to support the Atletico Madrid to win and under five match goal formula on Thursday night.
