NAPS are all the rage. Whether it's racing, football or even basketball everyone wants to have a nap.
If I ever reinvent myself as a tipster I'm going to be called Mr Rip van Winkel. Anyone to get to the point I've decided it's time to now and again focus specifically on one league and see if we can profit from taking tips off people who have an expertise in one particular country.
We know for example that Oor Man in Napoli is the go-to guy for Italian football. He has his ear to the ground, knows the team news, the politics, the rivalries, best pastas and usually calls games in Serie A and Serie B right.
So it makes sense to launch this new feature by looking at Sunday's Serie A card – and I hope he's about tonight or tomorrow morning. I want people to only comment on Serie A here and put up a nap – I'll review those naps at a later stage and work out a win percentage.
If those proves popular – and more to the points successful – I'll make it a regular feature on various countries such as Spain, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, France, Holland and even Wales.
And of course we have The Dane and what he doesn't know about Danish football you write on a Carlsberg label.
There are eight Serie A Sunday matches – Bologna v Sassuolo, Chievo v Genoa, Inter Milan v Torino, Juventus v Fiorentina, Lazio v Atalanta, Napoli v Roma, Parma v Verona and Sampdoria v Livorno.
There are some decent looking homes in there and I'll kick us off with an obvious one but at a price I reckon is worth taking. The 11.30am kick-off sees Juve at 4-9 with William Hill and they should win as they try to avenge the only league defeat they've suffered this season in Florence.
Inter Milan, Lazio and Parma should also win and at night there's a potential cracker between Napoli and Roma.
But Juventus are my nap. What's yours?
got to put up juventus mr f, they are flyimg at the moment
Inter Milan v Torino under 2.5 goals looks decent at 11/10…
I thought the Inter game looked tight on paper and so it proved! 11/10 was a decent price considering the previous 5 Inter home matches went under.
Inter v Torino
NAP – Immobile to Score Any Time
3/1 @ BETFRED
With 13 goals in his last 20 appearances, Ciro Immobile is flying. He netted for Torino last October in the reverse fixture, a hugely entertaining 3-3 draw. I expect both sides to score tomorrow in what should be a good contest.
With goals in my thoughts I’ll look no further than the man who has a surname that sounds like a cruel nickname for Titus Bramble. With odds as short as 2.88 with Boylesports for The Stationary One to ruffle the onion bag inside 90 minutes tomorrow, the 3/1 on offer with BETFRED looks like tremendous value.
NB Vidal 1st Goalscorer – 6/1 (various)
EdRhodes89, cheers for that – just what I was looking for.
Lazio 4/7 at home 2 Atalanta who have the 2nd worst away record in the league with 1 victory on the road. Lazio have been decent at home losing just 2 in 12 home games.
Roma to beat napolii
Tony g, been looking at Serie A team news and Roma are without Totti and De Rossi – that would worry me. Best bet on this game could be Higuain to score.
I reckon Roma will stretch away from Napoli in this one,, so going with an away win for Roma at 2/1
if gilardino is playing tomorrow i will be all over genoa at a tempting 13/5
INTER V TORINO BOTH TO SCORE.
Juve -1 5/4
love this idea mr f…im all over juve
JUVENTUS – fiorentina – both to score and win
NAPOLI – ROMA – both to score and draw
Juventus (nap)
Parma (Nb)
City v Wigan
City got a score to settle but Wigan will defend for their lives and make it tough.
Under 2.5 total goals 15/8
City to win 2-0 6/1
Real Madrid @ 1/12
– will want to do what barca failed to do this week and pick up 3 points
Ajax @ 1/5
– Ajax have won there last 9 competitive games in all competitions at home also, cambuur have lost all games away to ajax al be it only the 2!
Porto @ 2/11
– Porto have been in not there best run of form in recent weeks in the league however should see past arouca at home,of whom are missing one of there main defender through injury.
Just out of interest raal is that btts tip researched in the same way as your winners on Saturday and thanks again I like many profited from your tips yesterday :)
Sampdoria home to livorno 8/11 reason being sampdoria decent usually at home an livorno have been rank all season
Miroslav Klose (Lazio) anytime scorer NAP 5/4
Parma – Verona
over 2,5 @ 1.83
Parma v Verona BTTS (4/5) – NAP
5/6 of Verona’s last 6 games have seen both teams score (Last game was 0-0). Only 2/6 of Parma’s last 6 games have seen both score, but both teams tend to score when Parma play teams around them in the table. Verona play very open so i’m expecting goals. The game earlier in the season finished 3-2.
Parma win & btts 5/2
Not a lot of juicy fixtures I can see today here are my selections for the Italian leagues;
Samporda = win @ 1.80
Parma = Draw @ 3.50
Lazio = win @ 1.6
9/1 Treble
man city v wigan man city -3.5 asian handicap @ 4.250
Guys have a good look; its serie A in italie this thread is about
Great stuff Mr f love it
Napoli v Roma could turn in to a bit of a scrap so my nap. Red card in game 15/8 pp
I see nobody has picked them yet.
NAP: Bologna (Evens)
Hughie, if its anything like last weekend (5 reds in 5 games) it could be the shit.
napoli roma looks like a 0-0,and juventus to win 2-0 ,a popular score line for juve.
Juventus btts and Win for me
I’m looking at the glamour tie of the round – at the bottom of the table: Bologna v Sassuolo. ;-)
It’s not so much why Bologna will win: they’re pretty poor; but more why Sassuolo will lose: they’re wretched.
Four reasons.
– Sassuolo have committed the cardinal sin of sacking a coach, Eusebio De Francesco, because it wasn’t working, then re-employing him five weeks later, because at least when he was there it was working better than the guy who replaced him.
– Eusebio Di Francesco has come back in and described the remaining twelve games as ‘twelve finals’. That never seems to inspire bad teams in any way. They always play more as if it’s twelve first round away games at lower division teams they shouldn’t lose to on cold midwinter nights.
– Sassuolo have lost seven straight. You don’t just ‘find’ form out of nowhere.
– Domenico Berardi, who’s their top scorer, is missing. He’s banned for three games for a stupid sending off last time out.
The last away point Sassuolo achieved was 1st December at Cagliari. They’ve lost five away since. They’ve also lost six at home since – their only points this year, bizarrely, were a 4-3 home win against a poor Milan in January.
I’m not saying Bologna just have to turn up – and they have issues of their own, no doubt – but they are aware this is a must-win game, and nobody’s said it’s a ‘final’. They’re a point above relegation, and, while home form since the turn of the year for them also hasn’t been great – four games at home, two defeats, two draws – there’s nevertheless enough in recent home draws with Napoli and Lazio to suggest they should have enough to see off Sassuolo.
Bologna are Evens.
Bologna to win.
They are improving game after game. Last draw in Verona they should win (missed penalty), and today 3pts will stay at home.
I wouldn’t touch Inter or Roma in any form, I watched the game last week and it was truly diabolical, it was like watching two pub teams doing battle.
John, can you take that photo of me down please, it was just for you and not the world!!
Usually avoid italian leagues but really like the idea of this thread so here’s something from me for small stakes and really good odds:
Napoli-Roma- BTTS and Napoli to win 10/3
Both teams score a lot, considering absences in away team I’m pretty sure they will concede at least once but they’ve got more than enough quality to score as well. Higuain and Callejon on fire thus my decision for home win and both teams to score.
Good luck
FROM THE LOW RISK SERIES.
SAMPDORIA – LIVORNO.
Sampdoria – Livorno
Sampdoria +0
1,31
Livorno have conceded in the last 15 matches and in 92% of their away matches. They are 2-2-8 away and I can’t see them scoring twice today why Sampdoria Draw No Bet are on the Low Risk Series today.
The Dane.
Any1 think juve will concede today?
I believe they will win, but they do like to win to nil.
The reason I ask is because I was thinking of including this game in my win&btts acca but I’m torn .?
Juve win and Tevez to score
Not had any time to look at any games this weekend and no time today unfortunately, but the most settled teams this week in a very tough Serie A card – for a number of reasons – look to be LAZIO SAMPDORIA and GENOA for the lunch afternoon games. Obviously JUVE look a bit off colour past few games, but should beat a Fioretina side who are missing Valero and Tomovic, as well as the other usual suspects. I dont think Fiorentina will pop up and score 4 in the second half to destroy Juve.
I fancy Tevez and Pogba to score as their is a bit of a weak point in Fiorentina, for me, on this side.
I posted this yesterday:
I’m going with smaller stakes this weekend and have picked 3 teams to score exactly 2 or 3 goals, each at evens, with Ladbrokes.
PSG
Monaco
Juventus
Winner
Winner
Pending
Florentina score both halves 8/1
Zenit st petersburgh score both halves 5/6
£13 double for over £200.
Sampdoria currently doing my 7 fold for 580, Dow. 2-0 to Livorno ridiculous
bet yr a bit happier now!! lazio screwing me, usually happy to see them lose tho!!
forza roma
Oor Man and The Dane, match fixing in the Damp game??
Samp even lol
Lazio did my 8 fold in :( not a happy bunny
Oor man in Napoli a cant see by a Napoli win tonight sir…no you try not be biased but last time in the cup you were bit cautious about them and they romped it 3-0. Only worry i have is If Francesco Totti who a think will start contentrary to reports may start an a hate to bet against him.
Was gonna tip half time ,draw.lazio/Torino.
Both drawing 16 times at ht,but, still 0~0 Napoli
Sampdoria came back and then lazio lost, 520 :( hate Italian footy
Well guys, after what seemed like a great thread to help us all put some ideas up and hopefully winners! It was followed by a pretty awful day on the Italian card…handicaps, over 2.5’s and BTTS were just blown out of the water in most of the games…oh well onto another week…I mean who would have thought Wigan would do City on their own patch@ a gobsmacking 18/1!! Every one of my acca’s let down by one team (City, most of the Dutch card,Lazio etc),let’s hope for a better coming week! Hope some people managed to break even/win something anyways!
GinjarBear, I’ll have a look at the results later but I’m sure the guy I highlighted, Oor man in Napoli, tipped Napoli to beat Roma.
Hi Mr F,he probably did, very good tipster just like yourself and some of the other regulars, however he may have only posted late with that tip as I had to put my bets on at 10pm saturday night as have been working all day today :(,no rest for the wicked,40 hours in 3 days means not a lot of playtime! lol,I like my overs bets and BTTS and there wasn’t a lot of that today even in the Dutch league for once! Oh well onwards and upwards eh? ;) least I got 3 BTTS in the betfred comp and was only 1 goal off in super single comp as Heerenveen won 3-0 instead of 3-1/3-2 as I’d originally thought! :)
Ginjar Bear, I know the feeling! I’m sure he put that up on Sunday although I advised backing against Roma going by the team news.
Didnt put up any tips at the weekend ; no time to look or think about any of the games. Its a good idea though – a thread per major league as there are fewer comments to pile through and its focused chat.
