SEP 17: MR FIXIT’S TOP TREBLES

IT'S a busy day of football and here are my Top Treble and both teams to score tips.

A Champions League treble and Super Single have been posted separately. I've mentioned a few teams in my comments and I'm wary about taking too many selections and talking up too many sides.

It's tempting to go with a fivefold or even sixfold by eyeing up sides such as Blackpool, Derby, Ipswich, Forest, Watford, Orient, Wolves, Nuneaton and Rangers.

I'm convinced the majority of those sides will win but it's unlikely that all of them will so for that reason I'm not getting greedy and staying with three.

Blackpool are my Super Single and there is no doubt they'll be the best-backed side on the planet today. Let's hope they don't let us down.

My treble starts with the only side still boasting a 100 per cent record in English football – and that's Orient.

I'm well aware that record can't go on forever but they should extend it at least until the weekend with a victory against a Notts County side rooted to the foot of the table with just one point from their six matches.

Orient I expected to be priced about 1-2 so it was a nice surprise to see 8-11 at Coral although Titanbet offer 3-5.

Next I'm on a Nottingham Forest outfit who have started the season nicely, especially at home where they've won all three.

Forest welcome Middlesbrough tonight and there are little signs of improvement from a side who lost 3-1 at Ipswich at the weekend. Boro have won one out of six this season – at Charlton – and won just once on their last 17 league trips to the City Ground since 1974.

I can't see them stopping Forest who are 4-5 at Titanbet.

Complete the treble with Nuneaton who have made an impressive start to the Conference with six wins and two draws. They have won three and drawn one at home and entertain a Hereford side who have lost three of their last four.

Nuneaton have taken maximum points in their four and this winning mentality should see them through tonight. They are 19-20 at Titanbet.

For the both teams to score treble I'm starting with Galatasaray v Real Madrid, a match featuring an array of striking talent on both sides. There is more reasoning on the Champions League post.

Add Bournemouth v Barnsley in the Championship. Bournemouth should win this but they might need to score at least twice to do so.

Barnsley have lost all three of their away games despite scoring four times, including two at Forest at the weekend. They lost 3-2 but it should have been mnore with Forest hitting the woodwork three times.

The Tykes have now conceded 16 goals in their last five games, including five against Southampton and five at Blackburn. However, in those four matches they have netted exactly two on four occasions.

Bournemouth have adapted well to life in the Championship with three wins out of four an Eddie Howe's men will push forward looking for the points. They have netted exactly once in five of their last six but should score more than tonight.

Complete the treble with a midlands derby between Wolves and Walsall. Both sides have been scoring plenty of goals with Wolves hitting 16 in five games but conceding seven in the last five with no clean sheets.

Walsall will go to Molineux determined to play their part in what could be a cracker and head there on the back of a fine 3-0 win at Crewe at the weekend.

The sides drew 2-2 at Molineux in the JP Trophy recently with Wolves winning on penalties and more of the same would do nicely.
