Luton v Notts County – Over 2.5 Goals
The top two clash at Kenilworth Road when Luton Town host Notts County. Both sides are locked on 31 points but it's Luton's superior goal difference that separates the clubs. With 48 goals scored and 18 conceded the Hatters have a 15 goal cushion on their nearest rivals.
The Magpies have scored 35 themselves, with boss Kevin Nolan turning things around following his arrival, so between them there should be goals in this one.
Two of the league's top scorers go head to head in an interesting sub-plot to the game. Luton's Danny Hylton, with five in his last four leads the scoring charts on 12, closely followed by County's Jorge Grant who is one of a trio of players on 11 goals for the season.
On current form (P 8 W7 D21 L0 F26 A4) Luton should shade this but don't rule out County. Go for goals at 7/10 on Over 2.5.
Nottingham Forest v Bolton – Over 2.5 Goals
Bolton's slow and steady climb out of the relegation zone continues on Saturday at the City Ground, when they visit Nottingham Forest.
Aside from a 5-1 drubbing away to table-topping Wolves the Trotters are in decent form for a side that's 21st in the table. That defeat was their only loss in the last nine matches (P9 W3 D5 L1), picking up 13 of their 16 points in the last 8 weeks. They've not been prolific in front of goal but that kind of form suggests they're going to be hard to beat.
Forest are a team I like getting on side with when it comes to goals. They're a team that create a lot of chances, but they also concede their fair share (only four more have conceded more). In 20 matches Forest are the only side not to have drawn this season and if they're to win this one I reckon they'll need to score at least twice so again I'm backing Over 2.5 goals.
Peterborough v Blackburn Rovers – Over 2.5 Goals
Tony Mowbray and Charlie Mulgrew picked up their respective Manager and Player of the Month Awards yesterday to mark a fine month for both club and player. Mulgrew has scored four in Rovers' four wins in November and they'll be hoping the dreaded curse doesn't kick in at Peterbrough on Saturday.
Rovers last defeat was back in the middle of October and their run of five wins and two draws since then has pushed them into the promotion places, just five points off top spot. They've been rattling in the goals too, scoring 22 in their last eight matches.
Peterborough may be one place off the promotion positions but there's a six point gap between them and Charlton in sixth (who have a game in hand). But they still boast the highest average shots on target in the league and in Jack Marriott have one of the League's top marksmen.
I've been torn between taking Rovers to score two or more but in the end have opted for Over 2.5 goals yet again.
