WITH a little bit more form to go on I'm hoping things will prove a bit easier for us to idntify where the goals will come this weekend.
Peterborough v Rotherham – Over 2.5 Goals
After the opening two matches of the season both of these lead the scoring charts but dig a little deeper and there's more reason to get involved in goals at London Road.
Posh have scored six in two league games and added another in the 1-3 League Cup defeat to Barnet. There's been a total of 70 shots in their two League One matches (compare that to say Bury at 36) with ‘Boro managing 14 on target. Rotherham aren't far behind with 12 on target to date so we could see plenty of goal-mouth action.
Rotherham are aiming for their first away win since April 2015 but they should be more comfortable at this level and can get among the goals in this one. Back over 2.5 goals.
Ayr United to score 2+
Ayr United have scored a whopping 28 goals in their first eight matches of the season, across three competitions. It's seen them qualify from the groups stages of the Betfred (after which they were soundly beaten 5-0 by Hibs in Round Two) and top the League One table with two wins from two.
Saturday's visit to Stranraer is a derby of sorts for United and I'd expect they'll take all three points. Stranraer failed to get out of their Betfred Cup group, losing all four matches whilst conceding 11.
Get on the Honest Men to score two or more.
Leicester to score 2+
Brighton would have been relatively happy with just a 2-0 defeat at the hands of title-favourites Man City last week and I've no doubt they'll take points off sides in the bottom half at home but on the road things will be a lot tougher and 3/4 on Leicester to win tomorrow looks a great price.
The Foxes impress at the Emirates last season but ultimatley folded to a 3-4 defeat. Vardy was as sharp as ever and the addition of Iheanacho could be shrewd bit of business by Craig Shakespeare. Leicester don't have the burden of being champions this season so could don't carry the weight of expectation that bogged them down last term.
If Leicester can be as threatening against Brighton as they were against Arsenal then there should be two or more goals in this for them.
