Motherwell vs Rangers: Back goals, bookings & corners

AFTER Kilmarnock's comfortable home win against St Johnstone yesterday they have heaped the pressure on second-placed Rangers who are now just five points behind the Ibrox men.

Rangers travel to Motherwell knowing a win will move them back eight points clear in second and that will be enough to ensure they finish closest to Celtic. I'm with Mr Fixit on this game and think there will be goals.

We now have a full card on a Sunday with the return of the Nordic leagues and I'll be focusing on the Norwegian games in future but until things get into full swing I'm going to stick with over 1.5 goals in a league that sees plenty of sides finding the net.

Motherwell vs Rangers (12.30pm)

I've been impressed with Motherwell over the last few months having been left in no-man's land to now fighting it out with St Johnstone and Livingston to finish best of the bottom six.

A big part of that is the inclusion of young Jake Hastie who has been in terrific form for the Fir Park side. There's usually goals when these two meet and with Rangers struggling to keep clean sheets on the road there's every chance Motherwell will score given the pace they have in attack.

Rangers responded well to another Old Firm defeat with a resounding defeat of Hearts and with Jermain Defoe getting more game time he'll be a threat.

It's been raining for the last 24 hours now so the Fir Park pitch will be nice and zippy which should see some cards being dished out, especially when Motherwell have some repeat offenders in Tom Aldred and Carl McHugh who both have eight bookings to their name this season with the latter also being sent off twice.

It should be a cracking game so I'm going for goals, cards and corners.
