Scottish Football Tips: United can home in another win

IT'S top v bottom in the Championship as Dundee United aim to make Ian McCall's return to Tannadice a miserable one.

United boast a 100 per cent home record but will be aware the Jags have lost just once on the road.

When the leaders met basement boys Alloa a few weeks ago it was the underdogs who triumphed but that was on their own plastic pitch.

In front of their own fans United have been untouchable with five wins out of five and 20 goals rammed in – most of them from Lawrence Shankland who played at Ayr last season under McCall.

All of Thistle's eight points have come on the road and they have the second best away record in the Championship so I'm sure their fans will back them at 9-2 with McBookie.

But I'm on the home with the Tangerines 8-13 at Betway and as they average four a game at home they should bring up United and over 2.5 match goals at 11-8 with Paddy Power.

Shankland hit the opener against Dunfermline at the weekend and is 14-5 with McBookie to again break the deadlock.

Elsewhere in the Championship Alloa are aiming to make it a Dee double when Dundee visit.

The Wasps look a big price at 31-10 with McBookie which allows us to take Alloa draw no bet at 9-5.

Arbroath have surprised many, including Thistle on Saturday, and are overpriced at 4-1 with BetVictor at Dunfermline. Back them +1 at 23-20 with McBookie.

There are three games in League Two and best bets could be Edinburgh at 20-23 with McBookie at home to a Stenny side who'll be shellshocked after a 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat at Lowland League minnows Penicuik.

Cowdenbeath, who were stunned by Broxburn, try to pick themselves up at Stirling and leaders Cove, knocked out by junior outfit Auchinleck Talbot, aim to bounce back at home to Albion Rovers. Cove should get back on track but at 1-4 are way too short.
