SPORTING LISBON open their Champions League Group D campaign in Athens where they hope to face Greeks bearing gifts.
Barcelona and Juventus are the big shots in the group so Olympiakos v Sporting is effectively the first leg of a scrap for third place and the Portuguese side's goal-laden start to the season will give them hope.
They've bagged 15 in their past four games, including a 5-0 win away to Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League play-off. Olympiakos, meanwhile, have played three times at home this season, two in the CL qualifiers and one in the league, and conceded in all of them.
So I'm backing Sporting to get on the scoresheet tonight and doubling it up with Nottingham Forest to net at Sunderland in the Championship.
Forest have drawn a blank just once – at home to Leeds – in eight league and cup outings and face a Black Cats team whose sole clean sheet came against League One Bury in the Cup.
Goals double
- Sporting Lisbon to score
- Nottingham Forest to score
