Scott Allot’s Euro Tips: Benfica eyeing sweet 16

PORTUGUESE pacesetters Benfica are aiming to kick off 2020 with a sweet 16th away win in the Primeira Liga tonight.

They travel to Vitoria Guimaraes, which has proved a happy hunting ground with Benfica having won the last six visits.

Guimaraes are sitting fifth and having a decent season, with their sole defeat in seven home league games so far coming against Braga.

But with an 18-point gulf between the hosts and Benfica, I'm backing the away side at 5-6 with Betfair.

Elsewhere tonight, the Catalan derby looks a mismatch with La Liga bottom club Espanyol facing top-of-the-table Barcelona.

Espanyol are eight games without victory, conceding 2+ in seven of those matches, and a Barca win and over 1.5 goals attracts at 4-6 with Coral.
