RANGERS have been pushed out in the betting for the Third Division title after struggling to beat Brechin in the Ramsdens Cup on Sunday.
However, the “out” odds are 1-20 from 1-33 with McBookie.com who may have to review that price once again if the likes of Dean Shiels signs on for the Ibrox men.
Rangers are also out to 20-1 to beat Celtic in any cup-tie (from 12-1) this season after needing extra time to close out their tie at Glebe Park.
East Fife have been cut to 3-1 to knock Rangers out of the Scottish Communities League Cup in next Tuesday's first-round tie.
McBookie spokesman Paul Petrie said: “This was our first chance to see the Rangers line-up in action and they made hard work of justifying their pre-match odds of 1-4.
“Rangers still look a shoe-in for the Third Division but at 20-1 it now seems unlikely they will be capable of beating Celtic in one of the Cups with this much-weakened squad.
“Their next big test will come against East Fife in the Scottish Communities League Cup and Rangers are 2-9 to go through and 3-1 from 9-2 for an early exit.”
I think the bookies are just being ridiculous 1/20 /1/33 what is the point nobody is going to bet that unless its part of an accumulator with alot of dosh on it if i wasnt off on 15th august I would be devasted that for the next few years my team will be playing boring football at its lowest level the way I see it teams will give it there all but look at the fitness levels between the rangers players and the rest of the 3rd division after 60mins teams will be cream crackered chasing shawdows
Danny, you’re right but no bookie’s going to take any chance on Rangers.
