West Ham United vs Liverpool

, KO: 16:30 Nov 7, 2021, London Stadium
Liverpool

WEST HAM UNITED are having a storming season and they could even go above Liverpool in the league if they can win a Sunday teatime cracker at the London Stadium.

David Moyes celebrated his 1,000th game as a manager in their midweek draw in Belgium against Genk and there's no reason why he can't go on for many years yet, with the Hammers job clearly having energised him.

But they face a Liverpool side who had really cranked it up, until they surprisingly tossed away a two-goal lead last week at home to Brighton and there would have been very long in-running odds about that indeed.

They faced Atletico Madrid in midweek and blew them away even before the Spaniards had a player sent off.

Andthe Anfield side love an away day and are top of the table for away sides having won four and drawn the other one in their five games on the road this season.

Taking away their League Cup game at Preston with a shadow squad, they have scored five goals on three out of their last four away games at Manchester United, Watford and Porto and three in the other one at Atletico Madrid.

So West Ham have a sizeable task here, but they won't be short in confidence with increasing talk of a Champions League spot.

How the bookies view it

Liverpool are odds-on across the board and even accounting for West Ham's excellent form, they are still 3/4 favoutites with SBK.

The Hammers are outsiders and the 39/10 with the same firm will generate interest. The draw is 16/5 with William Hill.

Recent head to heads

Liverpool eased to a 3-1 win in east London last season as can be seen below. They also won 2-1 at Anfield and have won the last four encounters between the teams.

West Ham's last league win over Liverpool at home was five years ago.

Players to watch

Perhaps the only shock about last week's 4-1 win at Aston Villa was that star striker Michail Antonio didn't get on the scoresheet. He's on seven goals in 12 games and will have his backers at 11/5 with BetVictor to score anytime.

No question who is Liverpool's main danger man – Mo Salah now has 15 goals in 14 appearances for the Reds and is on fire this season. It's no surprise he's clear favourites and odds-on to score at the London Stadium at 22/25 with Unibet.

Anything else catch the eye?

Liverpool will face their toughest away task this season – far harder than Old Trafford certainly – but they love life on the road and their quality might just prove to be too much for the Hammers. They have scored 19 goals in five games and have never failed to score at least three goals on their travels.

But with over 1.5 teams goals for Liverpool as short as 11/20 generally, other angles are required. You would expect West Ham to contribute to the excitement and bet 365's 5/2 for a Liverpool win and over 3.5 goals has a real chance.

Liverpool are first and West Ham fourth in the number of corners so there should be a few here. It's odds against at 11/10 for over ten with Unibet.
