Roma are going through a difficult period and will be looking to snap out of a recent slump. They travel to a poor Venezia side on Sunday in Serie A and are expected to turn their season around here.
Venezia will be looking for an upturn in fortunes after enduring a difficult start to the season. They have claimed just two wins in 11 matches so far and are only one point above the relegation zone.
Paolo Zanetti’s men were held to a 0-0 draw by Genoa in their previous Serie A outing. That result means they are now winless in their last three matches having lost to Sassuolo and fellow struggles Salernitana in their previous two matches.
There have also been very little home comfort for Venezia this season as they have claim just one win from their last four matches at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo.
Roma failed to get their revenge on Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League as they were held to a 2-2 draw on Thursday. They were once again second best to the Norwegians and needed a late equaliser from Roger Ibanez to salvage a point.
That performance and result has been typical of Roma’s form in recent weeks as they have claimed just one win from their last six matches across all competitions. They were also beaten 2-1 at home by AC Milan in their previous Serie A fixture but are still fourth on the table.
One positive for manager Jose Mourinho is that Roma's two wins on the road have come against teams battling near the bottom of the table. They claimed a 4-0 victory at Salernitana and also edged out bottom side Cagliari 2-1 in their previous away fixture.

Despite their recent struggles, Roma are considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies at 7/12 with SBK. Venezia are outsiders at home at 11/2 with William Hill while a draw is set at odds of 7/2 by Unibet.

Roma have a 4-1 advantage with one draw from six previous matches against Venezia. The last meeting between both teams was a Serie A fixture during the 2001/02 season which ended 2-2.
Players to watch
Mattia Aramu often features in attack for Venezia and has found the net three times in his last five appearances. Paddy Power has the striker at odds of 4/1 to score anytime on Sunday.
Stephan El Shaarawy appears to be slowly finding his feet under Jose Mourinho and has scored in his last two matches. The forward is priced at 21/10 by betfair to once again find the net.
