LIVERPOOL will be desperate to avoid making it three Premier League defeats in a row when they head to London for a tricky game with high-flying Tottenham Hotspur.
The Champions League has been a refuge for the Reds this season and they inflicted Napoli's first defeat of the season in midweek thanks to late goals from Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez on a night when two of my bets landed.
But winning that tournament might be their best chance of securing a return to Europe's top table next season, with Jurgen Klopp's men languishing in ninth place after a terrible start to the Premier League campaign.
An Anfield win over champions Manchester City looked like being a turning point for Liverpool but they have since crashed to defeats against relegation candidates Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
Klopp will be desperate to get back on track before the World Cup break but faces a difficult road trip against a Spurs side sitting in third place.
A bit of pressure was building on Antonio Conte after some unconvincing displays from Tottenham in a run of three games without a victory.
But they have rallied in the past week, showing great character to come from behind and claim dramatic victories over Bournemouth and Marseille.
Spurs could have crashed out of the Champions League with defeat in France but instead they progressed as group winners, although it came at a cost with Son Hueng-Min joining a growing injury list.
Now they have the chance to lay down a marker in the race for a top-four Premier League finish but Conte has been robbed of the pace that usually makes his side such a threat on the counter-attack.
How the bookies view it
This is a tough one to call but the bookies make Liverpool favourites at a best 6/5 with Unibet. Tottenham look a bit overpriced at 40/17 with SBK, despite all those injuries, while the draw pays 37/13 at VBet.
Recent head to head
Liverpool have dominated this fixture in recent seasons and have gone 10 games without defeat against Tottenham. But the last two meetings have ended in draws, including a 2-2 thriller when the Reds came calling last term.
Players to watch
The burden for goals will fall heavily on Harry Kane for Tottenham with Son joining Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski on the treatment table. The England skipper is 13/8 with Bet365 and the odds increase to 5/1 if you back him to break the deadlock.
Backing Salah to score paid off for me in midweek and the Liverpool star has really started to hit his stride. It's now seven goals in his last seven games and Salah is also 13/8 for a goal with Betfred.
Anything else catch the eye?
Tottenham have made a habit of conceding first, falling behind in their last five matches. But there's not much value in tipping Liverpool to break the deadlock as that bet pays just 4/5 at Ladbrokes.
I'd expect Conte to set up to frustrate again and his side will find it tough with so many forward players out injured. That makes me think this won't be a thriller so I fancy under 2.5 goals at 13/10 with SportNation.
Lucas Moura will be asked to support Kane in attack and the Brazilian is a tempting 6/5 with Unibet just to have a shot on target.
