REAL MADRID host city rivals Getafe at the Bernabeu in a bid to keep pace with another Madrid side, Atletico, at the top of the league.
Zinedine Zidane's men engineered a come-from-behind win at the weekend at bottom-placed Huesca for their second 2-1 La Liga win in a row, but it was hardly setting out a marker.
Opponents Getafe appear to be in a comfortable enough position in the top flight – right in the middle of the table and seemingly in little danger of being dragged into a relegation battle or reaching a European spot and repeat their Europa League run of last season.
Real have been nowhere near the level of consistency required to mount a credible attempt to haul in the lead of Atletico and anything less than three points here would be a disaster.
How the bookies view it
The hosts are always going to be the favourites in this fixture and are around the 1/2 mark with a couple of place going 8/15. Getafe are 6/1 with Tonybet and the draw is 31/10 with McBookie.com.
Recent head to head
The sides have yet to meet this season, but Real did the double on Jose Bordalas' side last season and have overwhelmingly got the better of them for many years.
In fact, they have won 11 out of the last 12 meetings between the sides. You need to go back to 2012 for Getafe's last win over Real.
Players to watch
Real had to rely on a double from Raphael Varane to rescue them at the weekend – the defender's first goals of the season in fact. He's 11/4 to score anytime on Tuesday.
Karim Benzema is Real's top scorer with ten league goals and he averages 3.3 shots per game with only Lionel Messi having a higher figure.
With just 17 goals in 21 league games, Getafe struggle to score. Angel is their main threat with five of that tally.
Anything else catch the eye
With Real Madrid so short, value has to be looked for elsewhere. Real have now gone five games without a clean sheet and no Sergio Ramos, who is injured, won't help matters.
They have scored eight goals in their last three games and the 13/8 on a home win and over 2.5 goals with Boylesports appeals.
Getafe have claimed just two wins in their last nine and it's hard to make any sort of case for them to take anything from the Bernabeu.
And when the card markets come up, it's well worth keeping an eye on fiery Uruguayan right back Damian Suarez. He's chalked up an impressive ten yellow cards and one red in 17 appearances this season!
Getafe are also by far the dirtiest team in La Liga with 71 yellow cards in 21 games. The 7/11 on 10Bet for them picking up the first booking looks solid.
