Rangers will look to record their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership victory on the bounce on Saturday afternoon as they welcome bottom side Livingston to Ibrox.
Danny Rohl maintained his 100% record in the Scottish Premiership just before the international break, as his new side comfortably won 0-3 away at 11th-placed Dundee.
Goals from Nico Raskin, Mikey Moore and Djeidi Gassama mean that The Teddy Bears have won three consecutive matches in the Scottish top flight, closing the gap to leaders Hearts to 12 points, also with a game in hand.
Livingston travel to Govan off the back of successive draws, as they followed up their 2-2 draw at home to Hibs with a 1-1 draw away at Falkirk.
Whilst those might’ve felt like victories for David Martindale’s side given they scored late equalisers in both, they still have won just once since their return to the Scottish top flight, with that coming on MD2 at home to fellow promoted side Falkirk.
Nevertheless, the Lions are now just one point behind 11th-placed Dundee, and only two adrift of both Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
How the bookies view it: Rangers clear favourites
Unsurprisingly, Rangers are clear favourites to record a fourth consecutive victory in the Premiership, with BOYLE Sports pricing a home success at 1/4.
Livingston are 17/2 underdogs to claim their second league victory of the season, whilst the draw is 9/2.
Head to head: Gers Dominance
Rangers are unbeaten in each of their previous 22 meetings with Livingston, winning 20 of them (W20-D2-L0).
That includes a dramatic late 1-2 victory at Almondvale at the end of September in what proved to be Russell Martin’s only Premiership win in charge of the Glasgow giants.
Players to watch: Tav to find the target again?
James Tavernier continues to be Rangers’ main threat, as his out-swinging corner set up their opener at Dens Park last week.
In league and cup, the Rangers skipper now has six goals and three assists this season – including a stunning opener at Almondvale at the end of September – and with him also on penalties, I’m more than happy to back him to score at 6/4 at Bet365.
Mikey Moore has put in some impressive performances in recent weeks since Danny Rohl's arrival, and he finally scored his first goal for the club last time out at Dundee, before getting a second ruled out by VAR.
The on-loan Spurs attacker is also priced at 6/4 to get on the scoresheet on Saturday, and that also appeals to me given his recent performances.
Predicted line-ups:
John Souttar and Derek Cornelius picked up knocks on international so will be doubts, but Dujon Sterling did return to full training on Wednesday.
Livingston are expected to be without Adam Montgomery, Aidan Denholm, Cammy Kerr, Ryan McGowan and Shane Blaney due to injury.
Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Meghoma, Diomande, Raskin, Moore, Aasgaard, Gassama, Chermiti
Livingston: Prior, Brenet, Finlayson, Wilson, Montano, Susoho, Sylla, Smith, Shinnie, Yengi, Bokila
Anything else catch the eye?
Rangers have looked far more solid, certainly domestically, since Danny Rohl has taken over from the disastrous Russell Martin.
The German has seen his new side score seven goals across their opening three Premiership victories, and should get plenty of joy against a Livi backline that has shipped a league-high 23 goals this season.
9/12 (75%) of Livingston matches since their return to the Scottish top flight have seen a minimum of three goals, so I like the look of Rangers to Win & Over 2.5 Goals, which pays 3/4 at BOYLE Sports.
