LIVERPOOL have no let-up in a relentless schedule as they face arguably their toughest game in the league run-in at in-form Newcastle United.
Jurgen Klopp's side visit Tyneside in between their Champions League semi-final clashes against Villarreal. The Reds had to work hard to break down the Spanish shock-troops, but eventually got the job done in the second half and now hold a major advantage.
They are also on a stunning run of 12 wins in 13 league games with that only blemish being a draw at leaders and champions Manchester City who they have relentlessly hunted down.
They weren't at their best against a determined Everton side last week in the Merseyside Derby, but eventually got the victory required thanks to a very similar display to the Villarreal game.
For Newcastle, the arrival of Eddie Howe had banished any relegation worries and he's steered them into the top half of the table. In fact, the season is ending too soon for the Geordies.
They have won four games in a row and conceded just one goal against Wolves, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Norwich City. Of course, none of these are in the same class as Liverpool, but it's an impressive run and they won't be short of confidence.
How the bookies view it
Liverpool are odds-on, but not completely unbackable at 4/9 with Coral. Newcastle United can be backed at 7/1 with Paddy Power and the draw is 19/5 with SBK.
Recent head to heads
Liverpool cruised past a very different Newcastle team in December with a 3-1 win at Anfield as can be seen below. Last season though, the clubs drew twice. Liverpool are unbeaten in the last ten games between the teams.
Players to watch
Brazilian ace Bruno Guimaraes has been in excellent form for the Toon recently and has scored three goals in his last three games. The Newcastle United playmaker is 13/2 to score anytime with Unibet.
Jurgen Klopp's team selection is going to be very interesting here and Divock Origi could be rewarded here with a start after his goal against Everton if Klopp needs to rotate. He is 7/4 to score with Ladbrokes.
Anything else catch the eye?
Newcastle have a free hit on Liverpool and should have a real go here. That might suit Liverpool who have been used to sides parking the bus and that could lead to goals.
The Geordies have scored in their last five games and can net here again, although they might ultimately lose out. The 11/5 on an away win and both teams to score with Betfred seems acceptable.
It's hard to see Liverpool steamroll an in-form Newcastle either. Any win will do here and the Liverpool to win by one goal at 11/4 price on UniBet could come in.
